2014 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread

@mmlp14‌ I am, if I decide to go to UCSD. I’m behind on my prerequisites, so I need to catch up.

@HopeOverFear‌, have you heard back from UCSC yet?

@bhav007‌ Hey, i didnt even apply for UCSC

@HopeOverFear‌, ohhh ok. I was just seeing cause I remember one guy on the UCSC thread said that last year a lot of CS majors heard back during the end of April. Anyways, have you heard from from any UC’s? I still haven’t heard from anywhere.

@bhav007‌ You haven’t? :confused: That’s tough. What’s your major and GPA?

I haven’t heard back from anywhere either :((

3.47, computer science.

Thats not bad. Especially considering CS isn’t usually impacted. Where did you apply?

@ocnative‌ Which schools are you waiting for? :(

@anavera

Cal, UCLA, UCI, and UCSD.

Political Science, 3.83 here.

@anavera‌, I applied to UCB, UCSD, UCSC, UCD, UCI.

I’m a little worried for UCSC and Davis now because I’m missing 2 “foundation” courses for UCSC and 1 prereq for Davis. For UCSD and UCI, I have prereqs done (except the ones that don’t articulate). For Berkeley, I’ll be missing one prereq (the others don’t articulate), but I’m not relying on Berkeley since my GPA isn’t competitive enough for them. And, if I’m worrying about UCD and UCSC, that’s making me a little worried about UCI & UCSD as well since those are a bit higher ranked in CS. This is so scary :/

EDIT: @ocnative‌, that’s a great GPA; you shouldn’t be worried.

@ocnative‌ Wow you only applied to four? :o 3.83 is really good!

@bhav007‌ I’m sure you’ll get into some of them. Has UCI decisions come out yet?

@anavera‌,

No, supposedly only the people who got the Regents Scholarship heard back from Irvine, and the regular applicants still haven’t heard back. People are saying UCI decisions will be released on the 18th, so I hope that’s true.

EDIT: anavera, did you hear back from any other schools besides UCSC? Where else did you apply?

@bhav007‌ I got accepted to UCSB and UCSD as well. I’m waiting on UCD, UCLA and UCB.

The only problem is, most of the schools I applied for, I applied to with a major I don’t even want to study anymore. So when all the decisions come out, I’m gonna have to make a tough choice.

All right, I would like to share a link that I got from Mrs. Sun’s blog. I think this is the most accurate information about ADMISSION DATES that you might want to check on.

http://ccctransfer.org/university-announcements/15-ucop-system-announcements/642-uc-counselors-and-advisers-bulletin-march-2014-03-12-14

Last but not least, be patient and wait for Friday. but, who knows…

@anavera I’m in the same boat as you. I’m going to change to computer science assuming I get into SD. But I have NO classes done for it. I was thinking maybe taking summer, but who knows. I don’t think a CS course for one summer session and a pre calc course for another summer session is too much, right?

Thanks! Best of luck to you guys.

@anavera is four not much? Lol

@JN1994‌, what is your current major and GPA, and have you heard back from any UC’s?

@anavera‌, what major did you apply for at each school?

@JN1994‌ If you’re only taking one class per session, I don’t think it’ll be too much. I applied to the Public Health major for SD, which is the major I actually want to study. I do have some catching up to do (lol bio classes), but I did manage to complete a few prereqs these past two semesters.

@ocnative Well four isn’t a bad number. I guess it’s just that since UCLA and UCB are both reach schools, it would make me worry since that’s like half of your four. Maybe I’m just super paranoid.

@bhav007‌ I applied as Linguistics for most of them. x.x It may be partially why I got in so easily at some of the schools, since Linguistics is one of the easier majors to get in with…

@anavera‌, Ohhk. Well, that’s still cool you got into UCSB, UCSC, and UCSD!
