2014 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread

What, my status didn’t change :frowning: Instead, I got an email to update my grades.

Maybe tomorrow will be the day, my daughter just got accepted to Irvine no tag, she did tag UCSD though.

Applied to UCSD
With Tag but then I lost it because my GPA got low.
GPA: 3.44
Major: Anthropology B.S.
My housing message hasn’t changed either…

I’m OPTIMISTIC!

I GOT ACCEPTED TO UCIRVINE!!!
ANTHRO B.S
3.44 GPA
NO TAG

:) !!!

nevermind nevermind, my bad. No Irvine talk

I’m waiting for UCSD decision too. Does any of the economic major decision out yet? I’m so nervous. My GPA is 3.74 and prerequisite will be done by this spring. What are my chances? I’m so scared and nervous since I haven’t heard anything back from UCSD. I got into UCSB though.

@nicholas11. your chances are good unless your major is impacted. I’m in the same boat as you

try the housing trick if you want :)

Honestly just hearing how UCSD admissions is talking to us is turning me away from the school. UCLA reps have been at least semi-helpful, and polite, when avoiding directly answering our harassment of their telephone lines. Extremely frustrated with their way of not only releasing decisions, but how they respond to the extremely anxious transfer students just looking for a scrap of info.

It is what it is. UCSD doesn’t have to adhere to my “dream admissions process criteria” or anything like that, but they definitely aren’t winning me over.

Decisions for UCSD are said to be released FRIDAY, APRIL 18TH! That’s just what I’ve been told. Good luck everyone. May the odds be ever in your favor.

@randombookie Thanks. My major is econ so I dont think its impacted. What is the housing trick? I didn’t know about it.

@TheUnderdog1 maybe you’re not the only one calling them and they’re sick of students calling and the only answers they can give is that their getting to it…

Im just wondering why you guys are worrying about housing? does it really matter?

hey guys, i’m very confused about the housing thing. when do we apply and when is the deadline? please explain the whole housing thing, i was looking at all these comments about housing and i thought i didnt need to worry about it this early

I think they’re talking about the “housing trick,” which is nothing to worry about since it’s never been proven to be correct. You don’t have to worry about housing until you get accepted lol which most people haven’t even heard back yet.

@jktufo6f‌ I’m sure I’m not the only one calling. I’m also sure I’m not the only one calling UCLA. But UCLA reps are far more polite, and give as much info as they are allowed to give as well.

So to say UCSD is just frustrated with the amount of calls is probably true, but doesn’t justify their attitudes. UCLA admissions probably gets just as many, if not more, and they seem to be fairly polite whenever contacted.

@eastbaytransfer there had been a pattern since 2011 that people who had housing changes were MOSTLY admitted. Well you can’t say its 100% true but according to a lot of speculations from past years it surely means SOMETHING… hopefully haha

@davidyoonn Yeah I read the previous threads too and noticed that some people that had no change or the “bad” housing message still got in, so it’s nothing really to speculate about IMO. Regardless, decisions better come out tomorrow lol

I was like you yesterday and called most of admissions LOL. I totally agree with you on UCSD’s admissions department. I have to say that UCI and UCSB were really friendly AND helpful, but I sensed the same vibe from UCSD. I do understand that they’re pbb sick of our calls but they also have to be mindful that transfer students are getting diagnosed with ulcers. >,< I’m not sure if I’ll get into UCSD but I’ll def. choose UCI over UCSD. I want to be surrounded by supportive and friendly staff… I decided that I’m not even going to check my UCSD portal anymore.

any idea what time they will be releasing the decisions?

I don’t know but I’m staying up approximately 65 minutes… just in case…
