I had the “bad” housing message

I’m glad i didn’t get a flat out rejection! I’m gonna opt in for the waitlist and hope for the best. I thought i was gonna get rejected since my overall gpa suck. I messed up the first few years cc and dropped out cause i lost drive. I returned and turned it around just not enough to get me out of the lower 3.0 gpa range.

I don’t mean to start another sh i t show, but i’m seeing some consistency in the relationship of the housing message and acceptace/rejections. Perhaps there is some truth to it? I’d be down to collect the data and see what to make of it.

Major: Visual Arts - Media

EC: Some, nothing spectacular
Accepted: No UC’s (Accepted at Cal Poly Pomona)
Rejected: UCLA
Pending: UCSB, UCI
Waitlisted: UCSD

My GPA is low, so I’m actually surprised that I was wait-listed. I think I had very strong personal statements, some interesting life circumstances, and an upward trend in my GPA (well, downward, then upward trend).

Possibly a stupid question but does submitting the opt in for the waitlist timing matter? Like do you have a better chance if you submit it earlier?

Major: Urban Studies and Planning
GPA: 3.47 overall, but I’ve been taking classes off and on for 15 years and didn’t do so hot at the very beginning

EC: Some, nothing spectacular

Waitlisted:
Ethnicity: White
Gender: female

I’m a veteran, so that probably helped. I’ve had a 4.0 for my last several semesters, which helps show how serious I am with school now. I’m a parent to an elementary school student and a toddler. I actually have many gaps in my education, some from when my kids were born, and some from when my husband was going to school. I’m just so happy that I’ll finally be getting my degree before my kids get theirs! Oh, and my housing message changed to the ‘good’ one about a week ago.
