Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses):

So, I was just accepted as an INTER-UC transfer to UCSD into Sixth College. I want to be in MUIR because most of my GEs that I completed at my home campus fit with MUIRS so I would graduate sooner!

I sent an email to the suggested email address on the portal if you want to switch colleges.
I heard that you can trade with a student in another college and essentially take each other’s spots?

Does anyone from MUIR want to switch with me into Sixth?
Also,
Does anyone know if there is a formal request for transfer students that switch colleges that I need to do?

I had the “good” housing message in case anyone was wondering.

@gotsomehope thats crazy, we have almost the same exact stats, and i got waitlisted too! I just dont know if the media major is great at ucsd. I’ve heard mixed reviews so I don’t know what to think.

That IS crazy! Yeah, I’m not sure. I’ve heard that their media department is more theory based than geared towards fine-tuning skills, but I haven’t been able to find a lot of quantifiable information on the department. What were your stats?

The housing message is not legite dont be happy if you guys get a glad housing message or sad if u get a bad housing message it means nothing and for people who are not passing their math classes or know they are going to fail a class that is part of their pre-reqs your offer will get rescinded.

gpa: 3.1 could have been higher but extenuating circumstances
igetc: finished by this semester
e.c’s: not a lot but substantial
media major
waiting: ucsb
accepted: ucd
My personal statements were pretty good which is why I probably got waitlisted as I was expecting a straight up rejection. I dont know what our chances are, but there is no harm in trying. Plus I saw a thread from last year’s waitlist and quite a few got in as well!

@collegedropout1:
I know but I didn’t want to transfer any unit to UCSD, and my university is not accredited!!
What hurts is that I know people people who have my situation and never mentioned in their app that they attended a foreign university, and they got it!
UCI accepted me, that’s weird!
Anyway, I attended that university for two semesters only, I have contacted them and they told me to send my friend to get the transcript, and then he will scan and send it to me…I really hope in my appeal they believe me and at least waitlist me, otherwise I’m going to shoot myself. I really put much stock on UCSD!
