Hopefully, my little brother will be joining you all in applying!

Historically, students that apply EA tend to be admitted at a slightly higher rate, but this is mostly due to the fact that if you apply EA to MIT, you probably really, really want to go here, and are therefore probably a better fit than some RD applicants. Early Action typically doesnāt give you any sort of āboostā in admissions; thatās generally reserved for early decision.

I feel like adding test scores and GPA to the list might be counterproductive. or at the very least, make some of us feel inadequate, like what happens when I read some of those chance threads. but if everyone else wants to Iāll join in.

I thought it might make the list more interesting and informative to include some actual information rather than just a list of names. I understand your objection though. Iām certainly not going to be the first to post :)

@112358 - you have a good point about objective and informational; I just donāt want this to be one of those threads where you read it and go āoh my gosh Iām never going to get in when you look at all these people with 4.0s and 2400s and 36s ahhhhhhhhhhā

'cause plenty of the chance threads make me do that. Now I donāt read chance threads anymore. if anything itād be cool if we could worry with/commiserate with/encourage each other during the application process

I also think that we should NOT add test scores and GPA to the list because each person applies as a person, not by their test scores or GPA. Besides, thereās way more to a personās profile than those statistics. If you want your GPA/SAT scores to be known and to be evaluated, then you should create a seperate chance thread.

ā¦But I agree with HiPeople that we shouldnāt post stats. Because as much as Iād love to know my chances etc., all that matters on my application is me. I donāt think any stats can change that.
