2014 MIT Early Action Countdown Thread

What’s a tube?

And this is pretty obvious, but I am beyond nervous. No one knows I applied EA, so if I got in it’d come as a huge shock to most! I especially want to get in so that I can bond with my AP Physics teacher, an MIT alum!

@rra0917: I didn’t tell anyone (except some a FEW friends. my teacher recommenders, and my parents) either.

Tube: [MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: “Happy Valentine’s Day from MIT”](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/life/hacks_traditions/happy_valentines_day_from_mit.shtml)

That was a good idea. I told a few people, who told a few people, who told a few people… My school is very competitive and college-oriented, so everyone basically knows where everyone else is applying. Sigh…

I told some friends they come out today. The very next day I had freshman come up to me asking about MIT. Small school ■■■ lol.

MITChris!

Send me a TUBE!!! =D

I keep seeing MITChris and thinking of MC Chris.

I want a tube! :(

I don’t go to school anymore, but apparently everyone there knows anyway. :p

Speaking of telling people… Did you guys tell your parents? I decided on a little white lie - I told them decisions were coming out “around” the 15th but that I didn’t know exactly when… I figure I’ll either a) have time to recuperate before breaking the bad news or b) give them a nice surprise! Haha…

@Elanorci: I did the same thing. XD

Lol Cara, I’m pretty relaxed just listening to music in anticipation of the coming decision; my parents know, so I’ll probably get bugged at 8. But instead of thinking about all of that, I think I’m going to study for HL and BC finals tomorrow…hoping I can get a 100 on both; I’ll probably make a careless mistake somewhere though.

My dad knows… He’s been my super-awesome cheerleader for the past few months, and the only person I let read my essays before I hit submit. He’s about as excited as I am. :D

He called about an hour ago from work though, and said to just assume I’m deferred. :(

LOL! Hi Joseph… XD!
OMG CALC FINAL. I have it Friday… Sigh

@MITChris- Is there a reason that MIT waits until 9 to release the decisions?

Less than 4 more hours! It’s scary to think that the fate of my life will be decided at that time…

Haha ya I was vague to everyone about when decisions come out- only my sister knows … Getting kinda nervous…:(

Three and a half hours! Maybe they’ll release them a bit early…

I told most of my friends that I applied and, even worse, that decisions come out tonight. I am regretting it now, though! Soooooo nervous haha.

Anyone know how it’s gonna work? When we sign in, is it literally just going to tell us if we got accepted/deferred/rejected or is there some sort of flowery letter that goes with it?

I haven’t done this before, so I wouldn’t know. ;)

I’m remaining calm. I got into UChicago. I have my school if this doesn’t work out. I am zen. Even though I have terrible grades right now and I’m afraid of Chicago rescinding my offer… but Chicago is nicer than MIT… so I don’t think that will happen.

I love MIT! And I really want to get in, but I’ll be shocked (SHOCKED!!!) if I get anything but deferral (including acceptance and rejection).
