Your veto has no validity, I am a veto shield!

However, in deference to your willingness to wear the headband of our uniform if there’s something non-Gossip Girl related you would like to add to this rendezvous then the committee might take it into consideration.

I’m back from a productive morning. yessss. I love staying busy.

this is awesome.
yeah…I’m not gonna add anyone just yet (nothing personal )

But I’m gonna join the fb group like right now.

Imagine how long this thread is gonna get by the time we actually turn in our apps and are waiting for decisions! Scary thought

Good lord! It’ll be so long it’ll be like the thread that ate all the other threads for dinner

I wonder if there’s a Guinness World Record? Intrigue!

omg…i love you guys!! I have been shopping for an interview outfit. I hope it will work, and I debated heels due to my freakin 6’ stature, but decided why not?
Ok, I am in for the facebook group. I have another idea when we see each other at the inconspicuous meeting spot, we have can an opening code phrase, like start the sentence with “Confidentially”, like confidentially, what flavor of ice cream is best here? Or, a phrase like “It looks like rain”. Then we will know we are part of the infamous CC Yale SCEA group.

ahaha i love the group name and description… this is definitely the best thread on CC and soon we’ll have the best thread on fb!

hahah this is amaaazzzing. emily! so is your interview tomorrow? good luck good luck good luck and go kick some butt in those heels
Sorry guys…gotta ask. what are you wearing? hahaha couldn’t help myself.

i can only imagine what creative and cryptic responses I’ll say when some of my friends ask me about this new “confidential purple shirt, lopsided bow headband, ice cream eating club” i joined (they probably will never know but it’s fun to think about how I’ll answer) hahah.

did everyone join the group yet?

can’t wait to get started haha

Smile, No…I drive 12 hours tomorrow to be at my 9 am interview on Friday morning, so it is almost here! I am so excited!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you…I need all the luck I can get!! Go purple, head band wearing, ice cream eating group of groups!!!

Sorry Emily, I wasn’t on this thread in the beginning, but what’s going on with this interview? Are you do one of those on-campus ones with a senior or something?

I don’t feel like everyone joined…did everyone join?

Hi its.been.real-----awesome name!!
I have an “on campus” interview. I haven’t joined the FB group yet, but I will. I am trying to do my last bit of Yale research before I go. I am very excited, and will fill in the CC group when I return. Gosh, so much to share from the thread-I have an unusual EC, am a recruited athlete, but I won’t make Yale’s top 5 the coach submits to admissions, so I have to get in on my other merit-and plan on trying to walk on. I love life, laugh a lot, and stay crazy busy-which I love!!
That probably catches you up pretty well. Everyone on this thread sounds amazing, another reason we should all be BULLDOGS!!!

hahah emily i looove staying busy too!! and loving life, laughing a lot haha
It’s SO close…exciting!!
Can’t wait until you come back and tell us how it goes.

Just browing the YALE website again. Read this.

Though the Single Choice Early Action deadline is November 1, we strongly encourage you to submit all of your materials to us sooner. We expect a rise in early applications this year, so admissions officers will begin reading applications after mid-October. The earlier your application becomes complete—meaning you have submitted both the Common Application and Yale Supplement, and we have received the necessary school documents and your fee or fee waiver request—the sooner we can begin to evaluate it.

Do they really expect SCEA apps to go up a lot this year? Or was this from last year? Looks like they’re reading apps pretty early!

I love staying busy too. Makes me feel fulfilled. This summer is crazy, though, I’m juggling so many different things.

Smile: That message has been on the Yale website since Harvard and Princeton ditched early applications.

Emily: Good luck with that interview!! You’ll be great, just be yourself. I’m so excited to hear about it!

Yeah, that message has been up for a while and college applications all over the school have been on a rise since we’re the children of the baby boomers…there are more of us than there are of any other generation around our age bracket; however, don’t fret because it’s beginning to go down starting with 2010. 2009 was the largest application group thus far in the history of the US university system!!

Emily, good luck! What’s your unusual EC?

Yeah I thought so too so when I read that I was kinda confused. Hahah I guess I just haven’t noticed it before! Which is strange since I visit that site so often =]
thanks guys!

Sooo much to do this summer but i’m loving it! no more “hmm I wonder what I’ll do with this completely free day” like my other summers haha I think I work best when I’m busy and juggling a bunch of things and running from one place to the next. keeps me on my toes and makes me feel like I accomplished things!

and you know what I just noticed? the user–Lanaenesque or whatever, who started this thread isn’t even on here anymore! =[

just a random thought.

I agree with the keeping busy thing, but I got so burnt out by the end of this year that I decided not to fill up my summer and so far it’s been lovely. I’ve worked out a little routine for myself. Every day I have certain amounts of time that I do the following:
-clean a part of my room (I have piles of paper dating back to 8th grade that I need to go through and decide what to keep and what to recycle)
-read 100 pages of summer reading
-study for the ACTs again (want to get that up to a 34 at least! I’m at a 32 right now…)
-read a bit of this college tips book my mom gave me
-write another essay
-make my mom and me dinner
-go out at night with friends

And on the weekends I can go up to NH to chill by the lake. It’s been WONDERFULLY relaxing…and I haven’t had a summer like this EVER. I’ve always been busy and enrolled in 3 or more camps every summer since I was 3.

I’ve also been finishing up driving hours and I’m finally taking my road test on Aug. 8 so that’s a HUGE excitement for me :)

guueesss what?? i think i know what my essay’s gonna be about! FINALLY a topic i’m happy with and i thought of it when i went to my favoritest place in the world. hmm, mb that did it? for those of you who are still stuck on the idea part, try it! if u have a favorite place that it

busy busy busy…a bit too much these days for my liking though

who isn’t in the group? emily isnt, and i don’t think chair is either?

i am in the group now!
yall, i feel like DEDICATED to this now, like this is an extra curricular activity, like I should put “dedicated user of SCEA Yale CC thread” on my Yale application.
its been real- PM me and I’ll tell you my EC :D

Ya’ll- I agree with basically eeeverything each of you has written! I feel like we would all be best friends in real life! Like after reading these I am always in the best mood! yay! hahah

its been real- yeah i do alll that stuff too, then nights i can go out with friends!

I will probably check this tomorrow night, right before I have the interview the next morning, so any last minute advice or thoughts that will make me magically become an interview genius, feel free to share :)

I know! You guys are all so cool, I seriously seriously hope that we can all go to school together! Not only because it would mean that we’d all achieved our dream, but also just because imagine how fun it would be to stuff us all in a room together :D

GOOD LUCK EMILY!!! Not sure if you’ll get this before your interview, but if not I’m sure you did great!

solittletime- nice on finding a topic! Bleh I STILL have to start mine -_- I know I’m going to write about a certain EC but not sure what aspect of it yet… my parents are on my case about it… anyway that’s my mini rant, my bad!

And I requested to join the group but I don’t think I’ve been approved yet :P
