2014 SCEA hopefuls?

emily–yeahhh but i guess that always happens when you submit an app before the deadline  so i’m sure you did juuuust fine!

ohhh i live in a remote region too. it’s so remote that i didn’t even GET an invitation. but i found an info session about 3-4 hours from here? not sure if i’m attending…sad.

OHMYGOD PORTUGUESENINJA you can’t say things like that!
you literally gave me an heartattack. i’m not even mentally prepared that the SATs are freakin close.

38 days?!?!!!

^scea deadline is nov 1 :o

not much time left :s

OMG OMG OMG I’ve been counting the months since I was in ninth grade.

Essays not done yet?! I’d better get to writing!

A question: I’d like to ask two English teachers for recs. My other academic teachers don’t now me so well. Bad idea?

Well, it’s also a bad idea to ask for recs from teachers who won’t represent you well. Lesser of two evils would be to get recs from two English teachers.

holy crap is it really only 38 days?! :open_mouth:
insane sauce.

I’m applying SCEA…been counting down to december 15th…

Hey guys! New to the boards  but I’m applying SCEA too! What was the name of the fb group? I would love to join

I’m applying SCEA! Can i join the FB group?

Nov 1!!!

Feck this, I might just apply RD.

awww thanks smile! i appreciate your enduring optimism. I am working on all these scholarship apps now that I have to do for the HS guidance dept. WIth 700 kids in my graduating class, there is a series of interviews with the school scholarship committee that you have to go through before receiving the school nomination for any scholarship. and then a student can only be nominated for one, so you have to decide which one is most important to you-which i think is cool, b/c it spreads them around a bit, and it makes the student truly pick a favorite school. Like the Morehead-Cain, Jefferson, presidential for lots of schools, etc

if yall want to join the fb group, PM itsbeenreal. BUT LIKE don’t just join and …sit there. like…TALKKKKKK. because we’re insane posters on the group wall. so if you join, please post and talk to us because we would love that. we love new peeps. but only those who talk. hahahahhah :)

ahhhh yeah emily i gots to do that too. but AFTER i get my college apps done! haha! we have a bunch of like community/state scholarships to fill out but we can do as many as we have time to do! so GOOD LLUUCCCKKKK

and co2010–i second itsbeenreal. I’d go with the 2 english teachers if the others don’t know you well. And if you’re planning to major in something english-related, maybe it won’t even look so bad! =] besides, the point of a rec is to let the admissions officers know you better so pick the teachers that can really describe you.

XD You hit the problem–I want to major in math. Yeah, I know, why not pick a math teacher, but I didn’t have a math teacher in 11th grade, and don’t have one this year. Thanks for your help, though: I’ll ask the two English teachers.

I definitely will talk  finally people with whom I can vent about my college anxiety xD

yale’s my number one choice right now. I /really/ hope I get in early so I don’t have to submit 10 other apps :/

what are your guys’ stats like?

omg you guys all seem soooo nice!! woaahhh this has gone on for a while hasnt it?

so i was wondering if any of u guys wanted to read my essay, i want more people to give me feedback on it.

i REALLY dont want it to sound like a sob story because i’m over the whole thing more or less

and it was like over 1000 words long, but now its not long at all, only because i literally cut out an entire side of the essay. i’m working on incorporating it, but this is what i have as of now

any help i can get would be aweeessooomme!! and PLEASE dont be scared to tear it to bits, really! meaness welcum as long as its better

its. so. soonn!!

Yes, the rule for the FB group is that you have to be an insane poster.

Rors - Boo you for RD! But as long as you’re online on decisions day to hold my internet hand regardless then I don’t mind.

Hi Meeeeeel! I will gladly read your essay! I’m at work right now so feel free to PM it to me so I can avoid actually doing what they pay me to do…

Stupefy, I have no stats yet. But I thiiiink my SAT will end up being something like 700/500/700

decisions are posted online?! oh jeez

Yep and apparently there’s a bulldog on the screen and music plays if you get accepted!!

good…this whole thing really creeps me out!
i sometimes wish that i wouldn’t love yale so much but then…its yale!
hopefully we’ll all see the bulldog :)
