what about you? since you didn’t mention anything about where you’re from i figuered you were a domestic applicant but now after reading your post i’m having second thoughts ;)</p>

about the recs, and the abitur things too: i COULD get my hsc’s predicted, but thats not prediction, its practically guessing too. soyeah. thats why applying RD,to wait for my REAL hsc score, even though yale is my first choice. sigh.
@stupefy, yes, i “photocopy” my recs. im an international applicant, and my teachers arent familiar with the CA process, and my counselor wanted a paper form anyway, so there you are.

<p>I am an international high school student (born and going to school in China, for those curious), due to graduate in '10, and applying to Yale in English Literature.</p>

<p>Needless to say, I’m extremely nervous about it. My strengths are probably a relative fluency in English and high standardized testing. I’ve done my essays, most of the supplement (though the 25-word answers are driving me absolutely nuts), and everything feels all right, but sometimes in the middle of things I’ll suddenly stop dead and there’s a little voice in my head yelling “Oh my god! Did you just freaking try to apply to Yale?”</p>

<p>Then I panic and randomly spaz out for a while before going back to work on my application.</p>

<p>OK never mind that panic fest I just had up there. Even if I get in the 600s I’m still within the 25th percentile. So hopefully that’ll be enough.</p>

don’t worry about the SAT…I have come to the conclusion that worrying is not going to help so…I guess all we can do is do our best
and even though I don’t know you you seem to be such an interesting and kind-hearted person that it would be Yale’s loss not to admit you (I know…it would suck anyway)

You are so lucky :slight_smile: I am really worried about this"prediction" - the sad thing is that applying RD wouldn’t change anything about it as I finish High School in June :frowning:
But I think that everything is going to be OK <em>desperately trying to calm myself and not to panic</em></p>

<p>But you know what, even if we don’t… we’ll get into other great colleges. And even if we don’t get into any in the US, we’ll still have a great time at college in our own countries. So as you said, let’s just do our best and stay POSITIVE :)</p>
