2014 SCEA hopefuls?

What does the prompt even mean? Or is it up to your interpretation?

i think it’s up to your interpretation lol, it lets your be creative!! =D
u wanna take a look? i could really use the opinion, juuust the one sentence :/

^wow that’s a really interesting prompt. I got a letter in the mail saying uchicago gives scholarships for merit finalists. too bad im not applying there :/

i wish yale still had ED…:(

^same! i’d do ED in a heartbeat.

Everything submitted for a while (CommonApp electronically, as well as recs/transcript forms/scores) - and no Eli account?

Good luck Tetrisfan!! We Yalies wannabees are friendly, and support the dream-whatever it is!!!

Thanks guys!

Btw, why does Yale give applicants such a tiny window for “Why Yale?” It’s kinda…irritating, because Yale is my second choice!

haha no matter how enthusiastic you tried to sound the first place, that kinda killed it…

^i think that was his intention ;)

but in all seriousness, I could’ve written a whole essay on that. that should be one of the prompts. really reveals who wants to go, and who is just applying for the name

Same thing with me.

I know that its a real letter, not an email, so maybe it takes longer?

I had to work REALLY hard to fit everything into that box. I did some general things about the educational environment and some specific, quirky things suited only to me (they have a carillon and an amazing pipe organ :)). I’m interested in obscure intstruments like those.

Princeton is tied for my first choice, but I actually like Yale better. If Yale could be plucked from New Haven and plopped in a suburban town in NJ, it would be too perfect to even ask for.

The choice would be difficult if I got into both. I don’t know if Princeton’s suburban environment outweighs Yale’s advantages.

good luck everyone!!!

(especially those who haven’t submitted yet :])

Hey Melx, PM me…I wanna read about that sentence and offer you my perspective. =)

I’m a she!

And…well…can’t help it, but Yale IS my second choice!

hey guys
i just submitted my supplement and i gotta go now to send out my teacher recs and so on…but i can’t copy anything since my printer has developed its own will again!
i just want this day to be over!

sat scores come out TONIGHT

got a question here guys! Is it ok that my teachers’ recs reaches yale before my common application does? btw, i’m doing all through snail mail! anyone can help? thanks! pretty urgent

^yup its fine

It’s just such an awful feeling to expect to be deferred (since more than 50% get deferred?).
I just hope they let me know that I got accepted or rejected.

Being deferred = Playing Hangman. :(

^Me too. Deferral is purgatory.
