Probably too early, but who's planning on submitting? :]

Ooh, I am! And it’s not that early for me. My region’s deadline is December 15, I’m pretty sure.

I’m submitting a short story I’ve been working on since March. Talk about editing! I’ve just got to ask my English teacher if he wants to be the primary educator. :)

When you submit a writing work, do you indent at the beginning of each paragraph?

I saw the previous National Award-winning’s writing works, none of them has any indent.

@Glitter: Cool!! I’m super excited for Scholastic this year.

@Cherry: I never have? I don’t think it’s necessary.

@yasminwrites: It looks like you did not remember whether you put indent or not.
When I open every winner’s work, I almost believe that ArtAndWriting requires no indent for every paragraph, but I could not find this requirement in their website.

I officially submitted 3 visual art pieces: 2 in sculpture and 1 future new installation! Fingers crossed!

officially mailing out my three writing pieces tomorrow. good luck to all of you!! :)

Oh man. I’m planning on entering three pieces, but they have to be “Postmarked by” Monday. I was just a hair too late to the post office and it was closed, so I have to wait until Monday. Does anyone know if it’ll be too late?

Submitted 6 Art pieces and 2 writing! I can only hope.

Submitted 2 art and 2 writing. Crossing my fingers! I got the amazing opportunity to go to Carnegie Hall on one of my short stories last year and I’m hoping that I can do that again this spring! Good luck to everyone!:)

@mirakayla I’m wondering the same thing! Except I’m in deeper because I have to wait until Wednesday! I go to boarding school so there have been some issues with getting proper signatures - and I let Scholastic know. They said it was fine when I reported that I would have them postmarked on January 7th. However, I realized I missed a parent’s signature on one form so my mom is gonna send me it the form signed before I can get teacher signatures. This means I’ll have it postmarked Wednesday but I’ll get overnight shipping. Do you all think this will be okay? Or should I go ahead and send the other full forms and try sending the last one separately. I got the sense that they liked having everything together so I was just planning on submitting everything wednesday.

Also mirakayla, just realized your post said you were getting it Monday. That’s perfectly fine
then! It should be postmarked for today. Don’t worry.

I guess I’m wondering too about how the process works. For example, will they look at my online submission without the form?

i’m nervous about my submissions 'cuz i messed up way too much on the grammar for my personal essay T____T

Do you all know whether the different regions’ results come out at different times?

My region’s results came out at 2:00 today. Neither of my two sculptures were recognized. I feel like a failure.

If you have been awarded with a gold key how do you advance to the national level? Do you have to apply separately?

So they notify each region separately?

I guess so. My region’s results come out January 31 at 5:00 PM

MiraKayla, when was your deadline? how do you find out when results come out?

Under “Guidelines and Deadlines” I entered my school’s zip code and was redirected to my regional program. At the very bottom of that page under “Notifications,” the date and time for the results was posted. My deadline was January 6 for writing. Art was back on December 15 (the result date is still the same.)

For the person who asked about Gold Key going to nationals, you don’t apply separately. It’s automatically forwarded.

Gahh my region doesn’t have a results date posted (never have, probably never will). I only know the date of the ceremony.
