2014 SDSU Transfer Decisions - POST HERE!

@brett8 I am a psychology major. No TAG but I graduated in December with an AA-T so I’m completely done with school.

@hbloc714
Thanks for that information, it was really helpful.

These are my stats:
Major - Business Administration (General - AS-T)
Degree - Will receive AS-T end of Spring 2014 at SD Mesa
Decision (on WebPortal) - Pending
GPA - 3.2 (with bump)
Credits- 70 transferable credits by end of semester
Location- San Diego

I did the Supplemental Application. But I did not know I had to send the AS-T verification letter until last week on the 12th. So I handed that in. The nice lady in the front gave me a transcript receipt saying the received my documents.

I was also denied to San Marcos yesterday. Even though it wasn’t my top choice, it would have been nice to be accepted there. Obviously, SDSU is my top choice, I love the vibe there its calm and cool and I don’t have to move out of the area and I can keep my job!

I was talking to another intern I work with and she said when she applied she didn’t receive an acceptance letter until late March last year (Journalism major with 3.3). I have also read online that they have a specific number of seats for AS-T degrees. So we should be good.

My admission status date says November 20, 2013. Maybe it doesn’t help that my last name starts with a “Y”. Lol! Anyways, best of luck to you and all the other people in this thread.

@5nonnegotiables Thanks for the advice, I just called for a second time and was given confirmation that my AS-T form had been received. I also asked the office to confirm the speculated April 1st release date for AS-T applicants, and she said that they plan to have all remaining decisions done for April 1. Hope this helps put people at ease for at least a few weeks. Best of luck all!

How much is the bump for ADT recipients? Is it like a 3.10 would go to a 3.20?

@christinedoz I believe that is correct!

@brizzzy19 my counselor said the one school that is pretty behind and slow to adopt the new things is sdsu. She also said that it’s the one school that never fails to surprise her and she really couldn’t tell me what they are gonna do because they tend to be so unpredictable. I just keep battling myself that oh I’ll get in Forsure and then I hear something else or see my gpa and im like oh I’m screwed there’s no way but then I remember how nice it was and I’m like Naa I have to get in. Haha Dangit!

If you need to resend aa-t or as-t over

@hbloc714 what are your stats?

I got my acceptance 2 weeks ago now, but still haven’t made my decision. I’ve done a lot of research because SDSU wasn’t my first choice. Cal Poly Pomona has been where I wanted to go for over 3 years, but now I’m not sure since I haven’t heard from CPP and won’t until mid April which is pretty late this year. SD looks so fun and like a fresh start. I live in Riverside and mostly everyone here transfers to CPP. I also have two ex’s that go there lol so I’m leaning toward SDSU. Can anyone give me more info on the school or area? I’ve only been to Sea World and the zoo so I don’t know the area at all. Everyone says there’s a lot of crime so I’m kind of scared.

Major - Marketing
Decision - Undecided
Location - Riverside, CA
GPA - 3.14

@kaislinn91

I am from sd and no there isn’t a lot of crime and I wouldn’t be scared at all. It is rated the 20th safest city in the country actually. Lots to always do!!

<a href=“San Diego - Wikipedia”>http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Diego</a></p>

Is it true that with an AA-T/AS-T our degree is used in leu of certain prereqs? I’ve seen it and read it on a few websites and I wanted to see if anyone could clarify. I’m missing one prereq for my impacted major and I’m worried this will affect me even though my counselor never mentioned me having to take this specific class.

I’ve completed the golden four and only 3 of the 4 requirements for criminal justice majors. I’m missing soc 150 and I’ve taken soc 101, pol s 102, and cja 200.

@kaislinn91, you should really do a campus tour and see how you feel. We live in North San Diego County, and my daughter just got accepted to SDSU & UCSD and is trying to find which school she will fit into. She loves the campus at SDSU, but there are some surrounding areas which could seem scary if you are not used to city life. Good luck!

hey, does anybody know when will they start looking at TAG students

@kaislinn91 I moved to northern California from Riverside (graduated from King) for college. I hated it. I have lived in San Diego since, and I love it. My husband and I started out in the SD suburbs which were similar to where we grew up, and gradually over the last six years have moved closer and closer to downtown. We now live right next to the zoo in Uptown. The city seemed really scary at first. It took awhile for me to get used to but, like I said, I love it. The museums, the food, the nightlife, the scenery, the weather, the communities… All awesome. And San Diego is one of the safest cities in America.

ok thanks @5nonnegotiables! I’m sure it’s much safer than where I live now, but idk people’s comments on yelp scared me, ha they were like hide yo kids hide yo wife everyone’s gettin stabbed and raped so I was like whoa.

thanks for the reply @janig3. I’ll definitely take a tour soon, I guess that will help my decision more than anything.

@knhofto, I’m super excited to move there if I do, but I’m a little hesitant moving so far, that’s partly why I cling to the idea of cal poly pomona. I think I’ll choose SD though. Thanks for the advice

@christinedoz my stats are back on my first post on page 25

@kaislinn91 lucky! Darn you marketing guys getting in and not even having sdsu as your first choice ahah looks like I should’ve applied for marketing cus our stats are identical -_- did u have an as-t?

@hbloc714 ok got it. Your stats look pretty good! When I talked to one of the admissions lady in person, she said the very first thing they evaluate is course completion which I think all of us have. Good luck everybody!

Btw, college confidential will star out just the acronym Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, but not rape and stab? Lol!!

Are there any studio art majors out there? I will have my aa-t at the end of this semester. GPA- 3.2 transferring from a cc in a Sacramento. My husband was accepted weeks ago (social science major with an AA and 3.55 GPA). Waiting is killing me!

I just checked SDSU’s academic calendar and saw that their spring break is March 31-April 4, and then classes resume April 7. We’ve all heard that decisions will be out on April 1, but I’m wondering if they can still send out decisions if they’re all on spring break?! Doesn’t that mean offices are closed?
