Korsgaard, Yes. You have to get your transcripts in before the 20th at 5PM or wait until after the break. At UTD, it’ll depend on when your classes submit final grades. If they are all in by the 18th, then you can submit your transcripts then. At the latest, it will take until the 21st, but final grades should be posted on December 20th. You can request emergency transcripts and hand deliver your transcripts to the UT Dallas Admissions Office if you’d like. That’s my plan.

I don’t need any analysis. My daughter was accepted in 2012, and 4 semesters in a row I witnessed the horrors of class registration, the last one a couple of weeks ago.
CS is one of the worst departments, by the way, still terribly overcrowded.

And Fall of 2012 had a very small percentage of dropouts.

About the largest class

Ya Ya, I want to double major in CS and Physics. I’m apply as first choice CS, second choice UGS. But if what you say is true about CS being overcrowded, would you recommend switching my first choice to Physics, or is there not much of a difference?

Very interesting WannaBeAtUT. I’m core complete with an AS going for CS CNS first choice and UGS second choice with a GPA of 3.49## (baaaarely under a 3.5 cause of a stupid C in Biology 2). Have Calc 1, 2, and 3 done also. We’re basically in the same boat. Hope we get some good luck!

Current (continuing) problems with registration are for classes that students take during 3rd-5th semesters (large freshman class Fall 2012, internal/external transfer students Spring and Fall 2013, advanced level students with AP CS and AP Calculus from Fall 2013).

Introductory level CS classes will not be a problem next semester. There are open sections in CS 311, 312, 314, and I do not believe it will be a problem to register. Registration for CS 429 and up (+ upper level Math and SSC) is a huge problem. Almost all upper level CS classes are waitlisted.

Sekrim & Korsgaard:

I’ve been lurking on this thread for awhile but wanted to go ahead and reach out as I’m in the same position as y’all (freshman (@ UTD) hoping to transfer for spring semester). What are you planning on doing about housing? I’m 99% I’ll be going to Austin if I’m accepted but the window between accepting and classes starting is so small, I am going to be super upset if I miss out on UT simply because of logistics.

So does anyone know if the College of Education is difficult getting into? Is it harder than College of Natural Sciences?? I know Cockrell & McCombs are extremely difficult.

Bangerz

Education is one of the harder ones up there with engineering because the school of eduction is nationally ranked.

So…I guess it’s not going to be today then.

What time of day do y’all think people will hear back tomorrow? Around now or anytime before 5?

Haverfords, I’ve been looking into off campus housing. I recommend scoping out housing around late November, early December.

So.
I AM IN!!!

mrxyor!!! congrats!!! Just checked and I got in too!!!
Applied to psych. 3.6 gpa

Congrats guys

Something I want to say to everyone out there though: your school really is not who you are. ultimately, your future depends on what you do not where you are. People will graduate from UT and be miserable and people will graduate from community college and be happy. That being said, best of luck to all out there.

Congrats! Are you guys BS Psych or BA Psych?! I still haven’t heard anything. I’m BA Psych. Really hope I didn’t get rejected…cause I have a 3.54 gpa.

I have the same 3.62 gpa and my is psy too. I guess COLA started to roll out decisions.

You’re BA Psych? I’m really scared now. :/

I’m BS. I still can not believe it!!

Ohh okay! Well, congrats once again! :)
