Me too. Registration is so horrible.

I live on whitis avenue right next to the dobie center, very close to campus. If anyone wants to be friends or whatever (since we’re new to UT and transfers) shoot me an email me at markm01234@gmaildotcom. We can explore campus or what not. I only have like 4 friends here in Austin and none go to UT lol

P.S. Did anyone from the CNS orientation see me? I am the guy on the far right that asked if research position were competitive lol

Oh. I remember you. FB is easier? “Thanh Nguyen” add me

Congrats, everyone!!! I’m so happy for everyone who got accepted:-) for those that didn’t make it and I know you all are out here looking, don’t give up. It took me two tries to get in and a lot of determination and tenacity. Keep trying.

Okay let me get to it

There were a lot of Thanh Nguyens, Thanh email me your Facebook link

Around what time were you accepted? Mine is still in review… I’m super nervous. School starts on Monday!

still in review! how long did it take y’all to go from review to decisions?

This is absolutely ridiculous… I just want to know a decision so I can move forward with school. This is way too stressful.

I found out Wednesday 430. I also kept calling to ask when i would get a decision. Yeah registration is really hectic right now… ugh.

Oh okay. And I can only imagine how stressful it must be. I just hope I get a decision, early tomorrow morning.

By the way, I got into CNS as a Physics major with a 3.796 GPA on Tuesday.

Congrats to you sekrim!!!

accepted to COLA with a 4.0!!!

I was denied with a 3.51 to CNS bio and education exercise science. They “ran” out of space. I will most definitely try again for the fall. Good luck to you all this spring semester.

Have you all found a place? I know an apartment walking distance to campus that is available for a sublease

Congratulations to all accepted for Spring 2014!!! Good luck with registration, it is a NIGHTMARE. But it’s ok, because you’re all LONGHORNS! HOOK’EM!! Send me a message if you have a question about registration. :)

Ya Ya, I filled out a CS course request to get into CS 312 this semester. How likely it is to get the course you requested? I don’t find out until the 5th day of class, but I’m still curious to see if it’s likely that I’ll get into an open class.

sekrim

I checked registrar’s website, there are currently 4 sections with open registration, no waitlist. All CS major students already registered.
So “how likely” depends on number of non-CS students who requested this class, and how early they requested it.

Hello guys! If ya’ll don’t mind, I’d like to post my stats for UT as well. I’ll be applying for this fall 2014.

16 hrs and I’ll be taking 14 hrs this spring semester.

American Red Cross
Youth Expanding Services Club
School Robotics Team (2009 - 2011)
Community service: 243 total hours in ONLY high school.

College:
Clubs:
Geology Club
Math Club
Science Club
Internship:
Ace Mentor Program(Intern)
Volunteer hrs- 50 hours only in college.
-I don’t have any rec letters. I don’t know a lot of professors well enough to ask them for a rec letter. I don’t know if it will benefit me a lot.

I posted a shorter version of my resume above. Hope it’s not too messy. Along with my stats, I do have a few questions to ask about the UT admissions. My essays are all done and I’ll be submitting my online app in a day or two. I’m worried. Even though I have a 4.0, Do you guys think I’ll be able to get into petroleum engineering with it? I don’t have any rec letters. Would that harm my chances of getting in to my major? I know I’ll be receiving my decision pretty late because UT admissions said they’d have to wait for my final transcript after I finish my 14 hours in the spring semester. Also, Does UT give more consideration to what previous institute you attend? Or do they just look at our gpa? I’m really worried. Hope my stats are good enough. Thanks for the help in advance!
