<p>Skerim, I do not want to disappoint you however the CS department will not allow any non-majors to take the course. Regardless of if you’ve filled out a waiver or not. However you can take CS 303E and then test out of CS 312 for the upcoming Fall that way you can learn the 312 material since it’s pretty much exactly similar, then you can jump right into 314 and 311 if you are accepted.</p>

<p>What is the source of this information? Is it some kind of unofficial rule because the department is so impacted right now?
Because officially CS 312 is still a core class (Science & Technology, Part II) and can be taken as introductory level course if spots are available.

All CS 312 sections got waitlisted yesterday morning and are still waitlisted. I wonder how it happened.
Just out of curiosity I checked registrar website 10 years back. It doesn’t look like any severe problems existed before 2012 when almost 1000 students were over-admitted. :(</p>
