@TheMak0 guess we’ll just have to wait till tomorrow. Lemme know if you get an email!

same! still waiting as well. Glad to know it’s system issues not rejection. hope for the best!

Semifinalist from Texas
GPA: 4.0
Rank: 1/842
Service hours: 1200+ and service awards
President of few clubs
All-State soloist
Biochemical summer Research project
Eagle scout

Semi from Florida; got my email at 4:55 pm est

I don’t feel like posting my stats but I’d say I’m pretty involved lol. Also kinda mad they don’t really ask too much about academics.

Wanted to note that last year two girls from my school won (we had five semi finalists, I dont remember how many finalists, and 2 winners) and they weren’t the smartest of the bunch. I’d say the winners are usually the most involved. They showed that they were borderline obsessed with the activities they were in. That’s all I know.

Has anyone from the mid-west heard yet? I’m from MI, but have not received a spam or regular email.

Just heard: rejection  Congrats and good luck to all semifinalists! Over 87,000 applications for a very selective amount of semifinalists…wow!

I THINK I am a Semifinalist from California
I got an email from them saying that I am and a link to the semifinalist application portal, etc; but, I am not listed on their website as a semifinalist? Did this happen to anybody else? This is the link for the 2015 semi-finalists (coca-cola posted all names): http://www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/applicants/2015-coca-cola-scholar-semifinalists/#.Vkvrtng-D-Y

@Runners That’s a list of last year’s semifinalists!

Oh haha! Wow, that confused me because we were technically chosen as semis in 2015 still! Thanks for the response @armchairhill

Anyways, since everyone is posting stats since this round was computerized:
GPA UW: 4.0
GPA W: 4.8
ACT: 33 SAT(didn’t take when submitted this application, but got 2200 after)
President, Vice President, Boys State, etc
Like zero community service though…
Lots of sports though

Reject from Georgia… as expected :stuck_out_tongue:
Good luck to all of those who made semi!

Got the email at 10:13PM EST. Florida. Rejected! I’ll post some stats below

Student government liaison since freshman year
Animal Science & Environmental club VP (9th) Pres (10-12)
Cross country (9 & 10)
Academic trivia team (capt 12, member 9-11)
About 1000 volunteer hours across 3 organizations
Rank: 1/272
GPA: 5.63 on a 6.0 scale, 3.94 on a 4.0 unweighted scale
Been working about 20 hours a week since junior year

Congrats to everyone that made it. Hopefully this doesn’t come across as bitter, but to those who were rejected like myself: this application was read by a computer, and at like a 2% acceptance rate, this is one of the biggest crapshoots you can be a part of. Those who were named semifinalists, congrats, you earned it. But those who were not, this does NOT mean you are any less worthy of the same recognition; just means that there was something in your app the computer didnt like. So I hope none of you are deterred going forward in the college admissions process, and best of luck to all of you.

@giraffeinatree My son’s stats were very similar to yours and he was also rejected. Good luck to you.

Rejected with pretty good stats . oh wellz. semi finalist only means more work so on the bright side I can relax. Anyone who made it congrats. everyone else no worries. peace!

semifinalist from IL! @classical98

My daughter was rejected. Posting stats for encouragement for others…this really does seem somewhat random. We are from a state with a low population too.

2350 SAT
4.0/4.32, many APs and dual enrollment
1/52
Varsity captain of cross country team which placed 3rd at state
Senior level figure skater and regional medalist
Mountain/trail endurance runner
All State Orchestra
Superior rating in two instruments at State Solo/Ensemble Festival
Employed as figure skate instructor, church piano accompanist, and tutor
Exceptional involvement in community service, with 1000+ hours

Not sure that she could have done anything differently

Again congrats to all who advanced.

Now on to the other scholarship applications :expressionless:

Daughter is a semifinalist from CA (got the email yesterday). ECs, leadership and community service are all excellent.

Did they ask SAT on the first App?

Also if anyone really cares, I’ll post my stats
