The new common data set has finally been posted. This has all of the admission and enrollment information for the last admissions cycle (2015-2016). This includes both summer and fall admissions. A few things I noted…The middle 50% average SAT came down to 1630 from 1750 on the low (25% end) and 1940 from 2000 on the upper end (75%) for the previous cycle (2014-2015). 85% of all accepted students had higher than a 3.25GPA. The average GPA of those admitted was a 3.6GPA.
There were approx. 3000 more applicants last year than in previous years to UP. The yield worked out to be 53,472 applied. 27440 were admitted (51.3% acceptance rate) and 7600 enrolled (28% of those accepted).
Previous years had 0 on a waiting list. This admissions cycle had 1473 of which 1445 were eventually accepted.
For the first time, Geographical location and State residency are listed as “considered”. The previous year cycle they were NOT considered in the application process.
Other information all in the common data set. Interesting to look at. My D was one of those who enrolled and it’s been the best decision of her life
