Here are a few observations:
51,761 students applied
13,584 of those were admitted (26% admit rate, compared to 32% last year)
6,071 of them enrolled (45% yield rate, compared to 41% last year)
Of those freshmen, 41% were OOS, a slight drop from 43% last year.
Mid 50% SAT
1290-1500 (up from 1280-1480 last year)
Mid 50% ACT
29-33 (unchanged from last year, although the percentage of freshmen who scored 30-36 increased from 67% last year to 71% this year. The mid 50% should hit 30-34 for the freshman class of 2016).

Six percent drop in their acceptance rate! Makes me wonder what the acceptance rate for the class of 2020 will be because I heard they received 30,000+ application for early action alone. Do you know if more people apply during early action or do most wait for regular decision?
What is considered a good yield, in general?
It is hard to guess AcceptableName. The acceptance rate could level off at around 20% but could drop all the way down to 10%. Only time, and Michigan’s generosity (with OOS FA), will determine how far it will drop.
brantly, for universities of Michigan’s calibre and selectivity, a yield of 40%-50% is the norm. So 45% is good. I expect the yield rate to rise further before plateauing sometime in the future.
When are the accepance rates typically released by Michigan? Around the RD decision period?
