How is it that someone with a lower MCA gets admitted over someone with a higher (or same) MCA for the same major?
@humanacidtrip To the best of my knowledge, they do not. Have you seen MCA scores posted that indicate otherwise?
@zach2016 Look at the two posts right above my previous one lol. Guy says he got deferred from Aerospace Engineering with 4300 MCA and someone comes in and says they got accepted with an MCA of 4200-4300.
Maybe one or the other’s MCA calculation is off.
@humanacidtrip I would say that both of those MCA’s are estimates. Not much chance of an MCA landing on an even 100, right? Hopefully @Gjjfcmkfb will post his exact MCA. Based on previous year’s EA threads, 4200-4300 is low for Aerospace.

Anyone have a sense of regular decision chances in mechanical engineering with a 4620 MCE?
This isn’t the ideal thread to ask the question because we’re trying to have a thread that is easy to refer to in the future that doesn’t get muddied up with off topic conversations.
With that said, the ME bubble seems to be right around 4600. So, it wouldn’t surprise me if you got in, but conversely, it wouldn’t surprise me if you didn’t. Make sure you have a safety. Good luck!

Wouldn’t it help to also add if you’re in state or out? Isn’t the current rumor that OOS has a slightly lower bar?

@sloholly, my guess is that your MCA includes non-academic adders like parents didn’t complete HS, Partner School or Service Area. Those don’t get added until they reshuffle in the second half of RD. If that’s not the case, you likely made an error in your calculation (included writing in your SAT, etc.) because a 4660 should have gotten you into GC.
