That’s probably true but hopefully we’ll all get our letters tomorrow I’ve just been counting down the days till we get our letters and its horrible having to wait as people around you get theirs.

OH dear…

Yeah, I just saw that. At least we now know that they’re coming in on Wednesday for us SoCal residents.

And the rest of us get an extra day or two of worrying about it >_<

Well, I live on the west coast, so hopefully it doesn’t take too long for the letter to get to me!
I wish they could just give us results online. It would make my life so much easier!

The facebook person could be taking a gap year. My son was accepted last year and is taking a gap year before starting in 2011 (but it isn’t my son on facebook).

Good luck with admissions and with the stress! :D

John Choi is a current Mudd junior who I believe works in the admissions office.

Does anyone know if the letters will arrive by today? If I don’t get in, I have another application that would need to be sent today, and I’d prefer not to waste the application fee if I don’t have to.

(The lack of meaningful updates on the admissions blog is somewhat worrying.)

Letters arrived in SoCal today! :)

I’ll be crossing my fingers then. Only about 40 minutes until I get home. (I’m in Seattle though, so it’ll more likely be tomorrow…)

When were letters mailed? Waiting for my child on the other coast…

Yesterday, via UPS Priority Mail.

Just want to say a great big GOOD LUCK to each of you! The students present or represented on this thread are exceptional and will have many wonderful college options. I sincerely hope that Mudd will be among them! :)

gahh im too nervous out here on the east coast. how did people on the west coast fare with their letters???

It hasn’t reached the whole west coast yet. I think it’s only Californians at this point. =/

I have no idea why I did not get in or at least deferred. Don’t really appreciate their rejection letter that says I’m not competitive enough for this year’s applicant pool

the only reason i can think of for your rejection is that the school doesn’t care much about sports, and would rather choose someone who did much more math/science EC.

I’m sorry :(

Like thebull, I was hoping for at least a deferral. It’s definitely disappointing, as HMC was by far my first choice college. I also lack Math/Science ECs, so that might be a major factor this year. Oh well, time to wrap up my other apps.[/ul]

=( That’s a major bummer for both of you guys. You both seem like you could easily get at least a deferral. Now I’m really worried about what they decided for me. =/ But there are still plenty of other fantastic colleges out there. A rejection is not the end of the world.

^ Same here. Those stats are significantly better than mine, and the biggest thing I have going for me is a year abroad in the UK…
