I'm applying for the scholarship which is due on December 5, 2014 but I have a couple of questions;
When it asks for employer, do you put the name of your employer, or the name of the company that employed you?
If an activity you do counts as leadership and community service, do you write in both sections or only one?
Is it okay to take pictures of medals/ribbons and use them as exhibits?

I believe it wants the name of the company; only put it down once; yes

Who else applied for this? I think we hear back from the lodge on 1/1

Ccggp101, where did you hear the 1/1 date?? I’ve been wondering!

My S got this email 10 days ago, “Your application for the Elks Most Valuable Scholarship contest has passed the lodge judging and will go on to the district level for judging. District judging will be completed by January 13, 2015, state level by February 13, national finalists notified by email February 23 and national winners by late April.”

I also applied for Elks but I didn’t receive any email. I’m worried now

mi5kids what part of the country do you live in? We applied as well but have not heard a thing

My son got a confirmation email two days ago

@Arabmom What part of the country do you live in and when did your son submit his application? Sorry for asking so many questions btw

No problem, we live in NC and my son submitted his application on December 5th!

We live in Michigan. I don’t think others need to worry. In our case, I get the feeling that there wasn’t much competition at the lodge level and the scholarship guy just simply sent it on. He had his application in just before the deadline.

I’m from Wisconsin and I heard back yesterday. I’m onto the next round of judging! Don’t know how competitive it will be. Happy to answer any questions. Good luck to all
I’m from WA and I still haven’t heard anything yet.
@enett29 that was based on emails sent out last year, it looks like they shuffled dates around a little bit for this year
I’m from NY and I still haven’t heard from my lodge.
Does every applicant receive an email no matter if they’re moving on or not?
I’m from NJ and I haven’t heard back as well
Hi I’m from Washington too. I didn’t hear back anything too… but do you know if they sent you a confirmation email or letter from the lodge saying they even received your application? *
We are from North Carolina, and my son got confirmation email last Friday.
Got a letter indicating I moved onto the next stage of reviewing today.

@worrybug I got a confirmation email mid-December.
