Congratulations to all the Class of 2019 Parents. You have successfully moved your student into their dorm. You got to experience the magic of move-in. At least for me it helped make it easier to leave my son because if Vanderbilt did move-in that well, they must have their act together.
We moved our son in last week to his first dorm room with a kitchen. It will be interesting to see how much he actually cooks. He did ask for a vegetable steamer. He’s planning to pick up his dinner at Rand and supplement with fresh veggies.
It would be great to hear your impressions of move-in.
Move in was very well organized. Too bad we won’t get the same treatment in future years! His room seems very large and he and his roommate had plenty of room for everything they brought. My son has been pretty quiet so far. It was a quiet drive home today.
Move in was VERY different from last year. =)) We (and by “we”, I obviously mean my husband) schlepped everything from the circle by Alumni Lawn to McGill. At least it wasn’t swampy/sticky today … it was beautiful outside!
I loved seeing all the excited Class of 2019’ers in social media! Welcome to Vandy!!
Another 2018 mom here. Move-in was very different for us this year, but so much easier! DD is in a Mayfield, right next to a parking circle. Steps from the car to the door, and only one set of stairs. Plus, her friends were already there and helped move most of her stuff in. Last year, she was on the sixth floor, and even though Move Crew helped lug all the boxes upstairs, we still were up and down those stairs many times on Move In Day.
Wishing all the students a happy “First Day of School” tomorrow!
How is everyone’s students doing? Just received a post card stating that the Family Weekend 2016 will be September 23-25. A week earlier than last year.
