I was just recently accepted at Georgetown and am planning to go. However I am going to defer admission and take a year off. I just wanted to start this thread to see if anyone was planning to do the same thing as me and what they plan to do during their GAP year.

I did a gap year last year and I don’t regret it at all. One thing to keep in mind is that your skill in math and science may fade away. Of course, if you’re spending your gap year concentrating on either of those 2 subjects, then that won’t apply to you. However, if whatever you’re doing doesn’t involve math or science, you MUST have the discipline to self-study or else you’ll fall behind.

I’m going to SFS, so while my math/science deterioration is lamentable, it won’t kill me academically as if I were going to COL, MSB, or NHS. Good luck and have fun with your gap year!
