As an Accounting Major hoping to transfer, this kind of scares me.
I’m an out of area transfer hopeful (Nor Cal) and the only thing I have going for me is that I’m a veteran and we’re supposed to have this “priority” over all applicants, which I don’t buy at all.
@raychill89 Thanks! I’m TAG… would I still need to worry about ADT stuff?
@eugenius310 Nope. TAG and ADT are completely separate. There is no TAG program for which an ADT program is offered. TAG is also guaranteed admission whereas ADT is not.
@teknikal562 I believe your veteran status will help you. If you are denied, I feel you would likely win an appeal based on the fact that you are a veteran. I’m pulling for you, dude. Stay positive.
@raychill89 Awesome, thanks for your help!
Have any English majors heard back yet?
yikes, 54 of the 327 history applicants were accepted last year based on the document. So I have about a 16% chance?? pray for me, y’all
@tessanicole I’m in the same boat as you Nutrition is 17%. Does anyone elses confidence in getting in just get lower and lower everyday?
@tessanicole @rachierach General Communication has a 12% acceptance rate based on last year’s stats. But who knows? For all we know, the majority of people applying could have WAY lower GPAs than we do! Let’s stay positive! We got this.
good point! I’m still pretty hopeful, just a little less than I was before lol
So I checked Instagram due to someone claiming a transfer student was admitted today and it’s true! The guy posted his admission email about 6 hours ago and his major is Pre-Athletic Training. Of what I can see on insta, his email says, "Congratulations and welcome to the class of 2017! You have been admitted to San Diego State University for the fall 2015 semester to the pre-major indicated above. Detailed instructions on how to complete the admission process…www.sdsu.edu/admittedtransfers.
I FEEL LIKE A STALKER but whatever lol. He’s one lucky dude to find out his fate so fast!
I saw that too. I was about to randomly comment and ask him to join our thread! Haha! @trufflebutter I want to know what his stats are! It’s a small field. Not many apply, so I assume SDSU was able to get through all of those applications rather quickly.
athletic training is a special program at state so maybe that is why we haven’t heard. I would assume a bunch of people will want to brag on this post once they send out a majority of their acceptances. Hopefully tomorrow.
Hello Everyone,
Just thought I would post my stats to see if anyone in my major pops up.
Major: Studio Art
GPA: 3.7
IGETC: Completed
PREREQ: All completed other than 1 because my college does not have the class
I applied last year and did not get in but I also didn’t appeal. Hopefully this year ! I was denied only because I needed a couple more prereq.'s.
Applied: SDSU : CSUN : UCSD : UCR : CSSB
ACCEPTED: Nothing yet
Good LUCK TO YOU ALL!
Hi Everyone
I have been reading these posts lately and I decided to make an account and join the discussion.
Major: Criminal Justice
GPA: 3.77
AA-T/AS-T: awarded fall of 2014
Transfer: central coast
Currently I am taking this semester off since I have completed everything necessary.
My main concern is my AP score which grants me 6 units and I had collegeboard send them my scores and have not heard back from sdsu about the scores. without those scores i would have only 57 units completed instead of 63. The supplemental application didn’t ask to sent them directly right away or the transcript indicating the AA-T proof. However I emailed them and they only said that " if they were me they would send the AP scores just incase" but like I said I haven’t heard back after sending them my scores.
Hopefully my paperwork is all good. Anyone in a similar situation?
You don’t send in your AP scores until after you’ve been accepted.
Edit: Just make sure that your AP units transfer as 6 credits to state. I had 9 AP units and they only transferred as 6 to SDSU @arzate94.
right!!! but admissions told me to just send them in. I guess they will just be thrown out and ask to be sent again. Thanks
Yeah the only thing they look at is your supplemental application. So as long as you put that you had AP credits on there then they’ll know. That’s weird they asked for them, they didn’t ask for mine. @arzate94
Yeah it is but now I will have to wait and see if I can get in with my GPA especially being out of the area of SD
Currently in manegerial accounting class, focus is drifting though, because we’re possibly less than 24 hours from knowing our fates ! :-SS
