@michelelittle I am too! A nervous wreck… LOL! I hate that these schools make prospective students wait so long to find out whether they have been accepted or not.
Then it is just a strange error in their system @teknikal562. They should be able to fix that for you.
Major - Business Administration Financial Services
Location - San Diego (currently attend San Diego Mesa College)
GPA - 4.0
AA/AS-T- I will receive my AS-T at the end of Spring 2015 (Business Admin AS-T).
I have completed the Supplemental App and now the waiting game begins. A few of my friends that got in Fall 2014 said that they heard admission decisions between March 5th - April 30th
Btw, does anyone plan to switch majors if/when accepted? I know the “rules” say that transfer students may not change majors before or even when they’re accepted, but I have heard this is not necessarily the case. I plan to switch my major from Financial Services to Finance once admitted fingers crossed. I do not expect it to be a major problem since the two majors are very similar and require the same major prep.
Sidebar:: I applied to CSULA, CSUF, CSULB, and SDSU. I was admitted to CSULA in November – I know crazy – and I was also admitted to CSUF December the 2nd. CSULB and SDSU are the only universities that I applied to that require a supplemental application.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Oh boy…i have a shitty GPA for my friggin major but here it goes, just a try.
Major: Psychology
Location: San Diego
GPA: 3.1
AA/AST: I will have an AA degree by end of spring.
Ahhh good luck @trufflebutter and @hopefulsdsuu !! I can’t even imagine the anxiety I will be having if we have to wait until possibly April 30th for a decision! I pray results will come earlier…but honestly, as long as we get in, I suppose we’ll wait as long as it takes!
Did you guys apply elsewhere? What are your top choices?
SDSU is my #1. My dad is an Alumni and my grandmother got her masters there as well…I was born to be an Aztec. It will be a huge disappointment if they do not accept me!!!
@raychill89 I applied to SDSU, CSULB, CSUF, and CSULA. My top choice is of course SDSU. I don’t want to be too confident (or jinx myself), but I really feel like I have a great chance being admitted. That being said, SDSU is really complex when it comes to admittance and it’s anyone’s game. I’m just glad I: live in the service area, have a high GPA for my major, and will receive my AS-T at the end of spring 2015.
If I do not get accepted to SDSU, my 2nd choice would be CSU Long Beach! In my opinion, it’s like the “SDSU” of the greater LA area.
Where else did you apply?
@TruffleButter Im sure you’re going to be admitted. You’ll be ranked first!
The only schools I applied to is SDSU and CSUSM. I am a military spouse, so I cannot leave the city we are stationed in. Driving to San Marcos every day would be a pain in the you-know-what, so I really am counting on SDSU. If I don’t get accepted, I have decided to go after the Arizona State University online program for my major.
And I agree with @brett8 : @trufflebutter you’re definitely going to get admitted, and if you don’t, I would be SHOCKED! Your GPA is perfect, you go to a San Diego CC school, and you are getting your AA/AA-T. From what I have been told, they designate a certain number of seats to people with AA/AS-T degrees, so you will be at the top of the list academically. And hey, I go to Mesa too! Maybe I’ll be seeing you at graduation this spring? I’m walking…even if it’s just for an AA. GO OLYMPIANS!
I do not have any grades lower than a B on my transcript, but man… those B’s bring you down! My GPA was reported on the initial application as a 3.63, and now on the supplemental app, it is a 3.68 after straight A’s last semester. Hopefully I can keep it up and kill these last 2 classes this upcoming semester and get two more A’s. That will bring me up to a 3.7, but decisions will have already been made by then.
I am really really nervous.
@raychill89 You will also get in. If not, either you may have entered something incorrect on your supplemental, or missed a class. But I doubt that, so you’ll be in good shape. The one that will be more impacted will be their psych program. I think their cutoff last year was around a 3.5ish for their program. From what I heard.
@Trufflebutter You cannot change your major; however, you can change on what you want your emphasis to be on. So yes, you can switch your emphasis to Finance once you’re admitted, but you couldn’t switch it to Bio or Hospitality Management.
@brett8 Could you possibly clarify what being “ranked first” means? Does being ranked first mean whomever is in this group receives admittance decisions first?
@raychill89 I would be both SHOCKED and DEVASTATED ! I am not a very patient person by nature so waiting for admittance decisions literally feels like time is going by so SLOW. I’ve been looking forward to completing the supplemental app since the day I submitted my initial app because it only means we are closer to finding out our fate lol!
I also heard the same thing about spots being reserved for ADT students. Last year, a lot of students with ADTs seemed ticked off because students w/o ADTs were being admitted before those with ADTs although supposedly said students have “priority” and these students felt like all of their spots were being filled. I know our applications are not even considered until the supplemental app closes and the deadline for the ADT Verification passes which is March 15th. What I found interesting though is that some students last year received admittance decisions before the deadline around March 5th. I wonder if the same thing will happen again this year.
I’m choosing not to walk for graduation but that’s just my personal decision. I’m just eager to start the next chapter of my education!
@TruffleButter, yes they’ll rank you on your gpa. So you’re good.
@brett8 oh okay thanks! How would I go about changing my emphasis once admitted? Could I do it before orientation?
@TruffleButter, you could do it during orientation. I would wait till the semester begins
Major - Business Admin with a concentrating in Marketing/IMC
Location - San Luis Obispo, CA (I go to Cuesta)
GPA - 3.61
AA/AS-T - YES. in Business Admin (GENERAL) ; unfortunately, and I just learned this today when I called admissions… If your concentration is NOT GENERAL your AS-T for business does not count -______-
I JUST TOOK EXTRA CLASSES FOR NO REASON I GUESS…
Does anyone else have the AS-T tab for their supplemental application that isn’t business admin (general) ?
No decision yet, but I really hope I get in. SDSU is my first choice!
Considering Chapman as a backup if I get a good financial aid package… Anyone know what the night life/bar scene is like there? I just made a topic about this.
UGG this happened to me aswell. I declared my AAST degree on my original Application but I am missing my AAST tab on my supplement application. Does anyone else have this issue? has any one found a resolution? I will be calling tomorrow
@Raisedbywolves does your major have a concentration? Like are you Business Admin? My AS-T won’t show on mine because my concentration for Bus isn’t general, it’s marketing… So technically it does not count at all in the admissions process. I’m also calling tomorrow to see if there’s anything that can be done for this sillyness I didn’t go to a CC for 3 years to waste my time!
I have an AAST in Business Administration from MSJC I was under the impression this would help me get accepted… Do you know anything about if this degree is accepted?
http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/admissions/transfers/associate-transfer.html
According to this list it should be counted?
@Raisedbywolves Are you business admin (general) or do you have a concentration? What major did you put on your app for san diego?
On the application I submitted that the major I am applying for at SDSU is Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems Fuck man… I just read your above comment about if your not general it doesnt count. FUck Fuck Fuckity fuck… What a god damn waste of fucking time getting that bullshit ass degree
