Wishing you the best of luck @trnsfrstdnt818
Hello, everyone! It’s been years since I’ve logged on, but here we go:
Major - Business Administration: Accounting
Location - Grossmont College (San Diego)
GPA - 3.54 (Major: 4.0)
AA/AS-T? Not applicable (how convenient ). I will, however, have an A.S. in Business Administration upon Graduation
This is the only school I applied to (applications are expensive).
If I don’t get in, I’ll be crushed.
Good luck to everyone!
Major: Public Health
Location: nor cal (east bay)
GPA: 3.6
Got rejected out of high school and it was my top choice since middle school so I’m looking for a little redemption here haha. Good luck everyone!
Major: Aerospace Engineering
Location: san diego
GPA: 3.3
Really hoping I get accepted!! Best of luck to everyone!
Got rejected by SJSU today because my GPA (3.28) wasn’t good enough to meet their 3.4 requirement.
Good thing SDSU only has a 2.9 GPA requirement.
Here are the list of all the GPA Requirements for every major this upcoming Fall.
Does anyone know how competitive their math program is? I have a 3.0 overall GPA, but a 3.5 major GPA and 3.6 at my most recent college attended. I will also be receiving an associates degree for transfer in mathematics.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you, bud! @teknikal562
Business Admin Marketing
GPA: 3.8
Igetc: Done after this semester
Major PreReqs: Done after this semester except for CIS 55
From Las Positas College
Also applied to sjsu (admitted yesterday) and cal poly
Hoping this works out sdsu is amazing!
Got Accepted by SJSU today,
Still waiting on SDSU…
This is a little disheartening.
SJSU was my top choice and I’m not too confident about getting accepted to SDSU.
@cyegsigian Here is a link to see total number of applicants by major versus how many of those applicants were accepted last year (fall 2014).
http://university-stats.sdsu.edu/reports/Apps_UG/all_app_admt_enrl_major_ug_144.pdf
It appears the Mathematics major had about a 17% acceptance rate last year. 105 transfer students applied and 18 of those students were admitted. All majors at SDSU are impacted though so it’s extremely competitive to get in. Your ADT will most definitely be helpful though, so long as the majority of the pool of applicants with an ADT in Mathematics have around the same GPA or lower than yours. Wishing you luck!
Hey everyone!
So I am a local student at Miramar College. I applied as an Urban studies major. My GPA is a 2.6. I am eligible for the tag program, which is what I’m betting on.
However, I’m a bit nervous about one thing. One of the requirements of the TAG program is that if you happen to have taken course work at SDSU in the past(through cross enrollment or open university) your GPA at SDSU has to be at least a 2.0 AT THE TIME THAT YOU SUBMIT YOUR APP.
Here’s my dilemma. During Spring '12 semester I took a class through cross enrollment and I received a D, which made my SDSU GPA a 1.3. During Fall 2014 semester I retook the class at SDSU through open university and I received a C, which now makes my SDSU GPA a 2.0.(which makes me eligible for TAG)
Since I was able to raise my SDSU GPA to meet the min requirement, do you think they’ll penalize me because technically at the time of application my SDSU GPA was not a 2.0.
I hope I’m making sense lol
Thanks guys:) and good luck to everyone!
Also,
I was wondering if TAG applicants have a higher chance of getting in compared to ADT applicants?
@hopefulaztec15 About your dilemma, I would most definitely call and speak to someone in admissions to get a solid answer. I’d even call a couple different times and speak to different people if you can to see if the answers you get match up. I’m not sure I can be of any help to answer this since I am not a TAG student.
As for TAG versus ADT: eligible TAG students have guaranteed admission whereas ADT students have priority admission which is not guaranteed. For example, they may receive too many ADT applications within a major for which there are not enough spots, therefore, those with the highest GPAs will be accepted before those with the lowest.
However, TAG and ADT are completely separate. There are currently no TAG programs for majors in which ADT programs are offered. Hope this helps.

@teknikal562 You can have my spot if you want. I don’t plan on attending SJSU
Hey guys! A SDSU hopeful here.
-Major: Business Administration
-GPA: 3.63
-Location: I attend two community colleges - one in LA county and the other in Orange County.
Units Completed: 66
Units in Progress: 22
-AS-T: Yes, in Business Administration
-CSU Breadth: Fully Completed, along with IGETC for UC’s
-Major Pre Reqs: Fully Completed, (Accounting 1, Accounting 2, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Business Law, Business Communication, CIS, Statistics, Calculus, Intro to Business)
-Other Schools Applied To: UCLA, USC, UCB, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCR, and CSUF
Accepted: So far only CSUF because most come out in March and April!
For Fall 2014 semester, I took four honors courses so I hope they see how hard that was! And this semester I also reported taking honors Biology. I am part of my schools honors program and Phi Theta Kappa, which I really wish we were able to report our extra curricular activities and achievements.
I am so nervous about SDSU! Reading about all the great applicants getting denied makes me very concerned. I would love the opportunity to go to SDSU because of their great business program. I feel like non-local applicants have a very slim chance of being admitted, because of priority going to local students.
While reading the sdsu 2014 transfer forum, a lot of the students were panicking about sending sdsu proof of their AA-T degrees and they needed to get verification by March 15. Is this still true? I thought SDSU didn’t want any information until you have been accepted.
@lakeshow310 Yes, the ADT e-verification is still required this year (prior to acceptance) by March 15th. In order to know your ADT eligibility for priority admission, they need proof that you do/will have an ADT. The only thing SDSU requires after provisional acceptance are the official transcripts to make sure your reported course work and GPA is accurate.
I actually just called my community college (SD Mesa College) to ask if ADT e-verifications have been sent and I was told that they have been. I’d call your college to see if they sent them in as well. If they haven’t yet, I’d keep calling to make sure that it’s sent in by the March 15th deadline.
