@ieatsushi I did apply for EOPS when I applied for supplemental. I also submitted the appeal last week. But in my appeal letter I didn’t say about I was applied in EOP because I think they denied me so Im not a part of EOP at SDSU.
@SDSUHopeful4 why don’t you want to live in PDS and yeah maybe August but I think we might know by mid May because the housing closes on the 1st of may
Hello,
Have any of you noticed that the GPA on your unofficial transcript is higher than the one you stated? I think it’s weird because councilors calculated it for me more than once.
Also, did any of you have your intent to enroll fee deferred?
@815gab My GPA is the same as I had previously calculated on my unofficial transcript, but my intent to enroll fee was also deferred. I was told that financial aid deferred it based on my FAFSA application… Did you apply for financial aid?
@815gap My GPA from my unofficial transcripts are higher since I have 2 classes that actually don’t apply to my official GPA. It’s weird.
I paid for my intent to enroll fee as soon as I got the decision, which was kind of a mistake. My financial aid was supposed to pay for it, but since I took care of it they will just give me an extra $400 in my FA package.
@lbstudies I don’t need the longer lease or the extra cost lol.
And I was thinking we’d know about our roommate and hall selection in July.
I remember one of the RAs at my transfer housing presentation saying late summer, so I’m guessing July or August.
Good luck to all of you going to SDSU. I loved my time there even though it was more than 30 years ago. My D will be declining a spot as a transfer student in business as she has decided to go to UCSD and major in Communications with a business minor. Hopefully someone will get her spot off the waitlist!
I’ve been keeping track of this forum and It’s been very helpful. BUT I’m a little frustrated and confused. I lived in California until I was 18, and then moved away for 2 years to attend a community college in Oregon. I’m majoring in Nursing, but I still have classes I need to take, so I would hold off on the program for a while. I have a 3.39 GPA. As a lot of you guys said earlier, they were supposed to let us know about our status, what? The 15th of March? It’s almost May 1st and I haven’t heard ANYTHING, no emails, calls, or letters. Maybe I’m just venting, but I’m a little irritated. Has anyone else gotten in that’s a nursing student? Or has anyone not heard a single thing from the school? Anything helps guys!
I haven’t heard anything either. I applied for MPH graduate program and my younger brother applied as an undergrad transfer student with an AA-T. I already got accepted to another school, but I would rather go to SDSU since this is where I received my bachelors degree, but I manily joined this discussion for my brother. I think my brother has 3.1gpa with the gpa bump. Anyone other english majors on here that have been accepted/rejected?
I everyone. I was denied admission at SDSU with a 3.42 for Criminal Justice Administration with an Associates with Transfer. i currently have a 3.52. I mailed an appeal letter about 3 weeks ago but I haven’t heard anything from them since them. Can anyone give me advise on what I should do? I’m so bummed I didn’t get into my dream school /:
Is there a facebook group for SDSU transfers?
I think someone should definitely make one!!! @parkcity1414
@parkcity1414 @lbstudies There are a few but, honestly a lot of them seem more like a place for promoters to advertise their clubs.
FOUND ONE!
Its under SDSU Transfer Students for Fall 2015
this group was made yesterday i believe
Hi guys,
I am a current transfer student at SDSU. I transferred in Fall of 2014 from Palomar College in San Marcos, Ca. Reading this thread brings back the memories from my terrible experience with applying and getting accepted into this school.
First, to those of you who are within North County San Diego and trying to transfer to SDSU… You must be applying with an AS-T degree to a major that IS NOT OFFERED at CSUSM. Otherwise as stated on the CSU website Palomar and Mira Costa Colleges feeder school for transfers is to CSUSM. SDSU doesn’t care if you’re a 4.9845939485+ GPA student in business, biology, etc. The fact is, is that North County San Diego is not within the local area transfer admission area to SDSU, Cal State San Marcos is. So, because of that SDSU will automatically reject you if you’ve applied to both and CSUSM offer’s your major. It is unfair, I know.
How to get around this you say? Well here is what I did and about 50% of the transfer population to the school. I declared as a Geography major at Palomar College. At the time they did not have the AS-T degree. However, CSUSM does not offer Geography as a major course of study. I applied to state, had all my prereq’s completed, along with all and every bit of my GE and was initially rejected for Fall of 2014 citing they ran out of open seats in the Geography department. After multiple phone calls and persistence and the writing of an appeal letter I was offered admission in July of last year. I wasn’t able to move away for school or else I would’ve.
Keep in mind you’ll meet a lot of transfer students at SDSU who applied multiple years in a row until they finally got it. I am one of them. Good luck.
@pepster805 I appealed last year and they didn’t get back to me until mid July or something like that, so you will have to wait awhile until they get back to you. Sucks I know But keep your chin up and be optimistic!
Really? I e-mailed admissions because its been a month almost and they never got back to me. It sucks because I already accepted Fresno State Admission just in case SDSU doesn’t accept me. Its just risky to wait until July. by then, if SDSU doesn’t accept me then I’m screwed and I will basically not be going to school for a semester. But from reading a coupe posts, I see that you have to be from the area of San Diego… I’m faaar ! from San Diego. I stay In Santa Barbara County.
This is a pretty random question but I checked my web portal and all of a sudden they want my HIGH SCHOOL transcripts? Before it was checked off with the green check mark and now it’s not. Anyone know why this would be considering I’m not even in high school >.>
@Brandb79 Did you have any AP classes that were transferred over to your current CC?
@Brandb79 I would call admissions and see whats up with that. I don’t believe it should have any relation to any AP classes you took because that’s a different requirement on the web portal. I know I had a couple of AP scores I needed to send in and it wasn’t categorized under high school transcript. I had to get it sent from college board directly.
