Does anyone know when the tuition fees are due? I can’t seem to find a clear cut date on WebPortal.
Tuition fees are due about 2 weeks prior to your orientation or you will not be allowed to schedule classes. This was true for Freshman last year. Not sure about tranfers.
Anyone’s admission status change? I just sent in my final transcripts but they haven’t received them yet and the deadline was yesterday
@businesslady You CAN in fact pay for your orientation with financial aid if you qualified for it and they gave you an award for the 15-16 school year. I paid for orientation with my financial aid. If your FAFSA was processed, SDSU awarded you money, and paying for orientation with your financial aid award was not an option when attempting to register for orientation, call the financial aid office and find out why it’s not an option for you.
@businesslady I also paid the orientation fee with my financial aid; and, my award for 15-16 was also already up on Aid Link so I think whether you get the option to pay/defer the orientation payment with financial aid or not depends on whether they received your fafsa and awarded you financial aid.
@SDSUHopeful4 when I was ready to pay there is only 1 option pay with my credit card. I didn’t have anything or option to choose with financial aid. I have award financial aid for 15-16 too but I don’t know why I have to pay it from my own money. So do you think I can get that money back when the check from financial aid?
@businesslady I’m not really sure, you should definitely call Financial Aid and ask.
All you guys are lucky!! I got in SDSU (Transfer student) for Criminal Justice. However, my loans/cal grants weren’t enough to cover for my housing? and my tuition? I was going to need about 4k per semester… And I qualify for the full grant… /: I was so bummed but it is what it is people. Have fun!
Hello I saw that you posted very frequently about admission to san diego state, I hope you could answer a few of my questions. As you and I both now this school is a very popular school and can only let in a certain number of students. I am a transfer student coming from a junior college in Sacramento called Sierra College. I currently hold a 3.77 GPA and willl have majored in both communications and journalism. The major I am intending to go into is communications with an emphasis on public relations. What do you think my chances are of getting in? I still have two semesters (fall and spring) where I can raise my gpa to almost a 3.9 (best case) SDSU has been one of my dream schools and would love to attend college here.
@tommyk12 From the past years’ forums, only a select few transfers from community colleges outside the local San Diego area make it SDSU and it is dependent on the major they are applying for. Are you applying with an AS-T/AA-T? Communications and Journalism would be one of the harder majors to get into. For this forum there were people with perfect 4.0s who were denied admission and most likely the case was that because they weren’t within the San Diego area, they didn’t receive priority admission. HOWEVER, I would say you should apply anyways and take your chances, it better than none at all.
Hey guys, congrats to everyone whose been accepted and best of luck to those who were not. Anyone here been accepted as a kinesiology major? My brother is applying for next fall and I’m looking to get some stats and see how he stacks up. I don’t have have his stats on me at the moment, but aNY insight will be helpful
thanks!
