2015 Transfer Waitlisted

Hey guys.
For all of those who have been waitlisted for CPP as a transfer student, post your info and keep us updated on your status.

It would also be helpful if you guys can share all the info you know about waitlisted at CPP. Stats and what not.

I’ll start. Electrical Engineering major, 3.35 major.

On the website it says "Students on the waitlist will be given a waitlist position number in the same order as their date and time the License Agreement was submitted online. "

If I understand correctly I think those who applied first get a better chance at getting accepted off the list. If so, thank god i applied the morning of the first day it opened up.

And i think "Students on the waitlist will be given a waitlist position number in the same order as their date and time the License Agreement was submitted online. " is referring to housing application.
And btw where you notified through email about the waitlist or on broncodirect?

Just got the email notifying me about my waitlist status this evening. I’m an Accounting Major. GPA is 3.56. However that is not my aggregated GPA because I had to submit grades from San Francisco State from years ago which is a 1.38 (I know, I was a horrible student then). This is one reason why I think i’m on the waitlist and not offered provisional admittance. The other reason maybe because I did not have a college level math class completed or in progress by the Fall 2014 semester. I did take statistics for winter intersession but it really didn’t matter because this took place after the application filing period. I wished that they had requested transcripts in February because it would have made me case a bit more compelling with the college level math class. Hopefully we are given priority on the waitlist based on the date we submitted our application because I filed on the first day (OCT 1st). Does anyone ever get admitted after being waitlisted? I would like to know my probability especially because this was the only school I applied to (yes, not my smartest decision). Are they just waiting to see how many people decline their acceptance or submit their final transcript?

I think what your read was for the waitlist for housing not for admissions.

I was waitlisted for ME today at around 9 pm my gpa is 3.2 (I screwed up my first year)

This is what I found on the website.

You have been offered a place on the waitlist for Cal Poly Pomona. If you would like to remain on our waitlist, you must notify us no later than May 1st. In order to accept your place on the waitlist, please refer to the communication sent to your primary email with a link to the Waitlist Offer.
If you decide that you do not want to remain on our waitlist and are no longer interested in being considered for admission to Cal Poly Pomona, please visit the Withdraw Application website to formally request a withdrawal of your application.

Did you receive any email for the waitlist?

i saw it first on my broncodirect and then got the email a few hours later.

if what i read was for housing, how does it work for admission?

@mlusikyan I posted what I found online in my previous post above

I got wait listed yesterday around 6pm
2.98 GPA History Major
I got an email last night, asking to either accept the waitlist or to withdraw my application. It said that they will start notifying late May and will let us know about housing as well.

Whether you are a transfer or freshman, it seems like a lot of people were waitlisted compared to previous years. A lot of us were waitlisted. Not sure what that means, just an observation. Any comments.

F***ing waitlisted. I am a transfer student.
Chemical Engineering
GPA: 3.8 w/honors

This is a joke. How could I not get chosen first?

My son
Applied 10/23 CPP
Geology Major
GPA 3.92
ACT 21
Waitlisted CPP (3/27/15)
Accepted CSUF Communication Disorders (turning them down)
Accepted CSUSB Geology (going to accept)
But waiting it out for CPP

@JoJoJenkins‌ My reaction exactly. My high school counselors all told me I have a 99.9% chance of getting into CPP even while applying to an impacted major.
Hell, I got into Cal Poly’s Kellog Honors College but not the actual university…how does this make any sense?!

Got accepted to the wait list yesterday around 6pm.
3.04 gpa
Agricultural science
got the email around 9:45 and accepted my spot like 5 minutes later.

not sure how this happened… but waitlisted as well. transfer student here.

major: civil engineering
igetc: completed
major prep: completed with 2 missing support courses, electric circuits and properties of materials.
gpa: 3.56

i got accepted into sjsu as a backup but i’m not sure how willing i am to bet my chances on cpp to find out i won’t have a school to transfer to at all this coming fall. were last year’s waitlist acceptances come out around the end of may as their email said? i feel it is highly dependent on the major but curious if anyone can find the answers.

I was waitlisted on Friday

Major: Geography
GPA: 3.18
Completed all of the General Ed and am working on two of the golden four right now

I contacted admissions to change my major from enviromental bio to geography in February because they didn’t change it when I asked them to in October. I feel like this pushed my application to the bottom of the pile. I have a feeling most of us shouldn’t be waitlisted but CPP’s admissions runs so inefficiently they’re just using the waitlist to buy more time to make admissions decisions at the expense of our anxiety.

I was waitlisted on Friday, 3-27.

Animal Health Science
GPA: 3.4
Transfer

I took this semester off because I am doing an Animal internship. I am trying to put together a rubix cube for next year and this summer. Waiting on CPP, another internship, job, etc. Yeah, I’m calm. Good luck to all.

I was wait listed on the 25th and now it says “Pending space availability” under my app status

Pending space availability

my status also now says “pending space availability”…hopefully this is a good sign but I don’t see any difference between this and the term “waitlist”. Also I don’t see "pending space availability on the list of application status definitions https://ehelp.wiki.cpp.edu/BroncoDirect:Student_and_Applicant_Help-_Application_Status_Help
