Reflection
Strengths: standardized test scores (ACT is converted to SAT at UGA) so 35 english = 780 critc. reading and 31 math= 700 math and 31 writing= 700 writing
Weaknesses: GPA…lower than the 3.85 avg for UGA and much lower than the 3.95 average for EA applicants
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: standardized test scores, most difficult curric. at school, 2nd best school in state, well rounded course load (all cores plus arts and humanities) and all classes that were not AP were honors/advanced
General Comments: APPLY EA! Follow the UGA ADMISSIONS BLOG (google it) and if your gpa is below 3.8 for EA, raise your SAT/ACT to at least (2000 or 30 respectively)
it’s competitive. i didn’t think i would get in. praise the lawd i did! congrats all others. good luck to applicants.

does anyone know have the profile for the top two percent auto-accepted into the honors college? I’m sure they only look at SAT/ACT and GPA.

thanks in advance! I just want to know if i should even hope to consider myself part of the top two percent

They haven’t released that information yet, but they said that everyone accepted early this year had slightly higher stats than last year, so we can expect the top 2% to be very, very competitive.

Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: eh…it’s relative. I suppose I volunteer a lot, and maintain fair grades. Be sure to use proper grammar in your application (or anytime at all… ;]).
[] Weaknesses: Not a high SAT score…I recommend taking it more than once, especially if you aren’t a great test-taker. My grades are OK in comparison to many other applicants.
[*] Why you think you were accepted: I really am not sure as I have a few well-rounded friends who were deferred. One is very dedicated, has a higher GPA than I, and has taken at least four APs. I really don’t know what to say! She’s even African American, of whom there are a low percentage at UGA.[/ul]
