Anyone know when Marshall Applicants hear back?
@wtb2525 I don’t think there is a specific date for each major.
thanks @pomeranian4rich ! hopefully that will happen to all of us.
@topchoiceschool I applied undecided with 2nd choice business administration @ marshall. I seriously doubt I will get a straight up acceptance b/c it seems like sophomores who worked towards their majors are the ones getting quick acceptances. :(((
ALSO, I was reading up on past threads and found out that we can send unofficial transcripts if we get SGR’d? If that is the case, AWESSOMEEEE.!!! My school legit took a month to send the official transcript so hopefully what I read was true. AND LESS WAITING. USC is my dream school and all but seriously their admission decision takes longer than others.
I’m so tired of waiting I just want to know!!! but at the same time I’m absolutely horrified that I’ll be rejected again
@wtb2525 I don’t think USC sends decisions in groups of majors. From what I read on past posts, I think the earliest anyone can get an acceptance/SGR is mid-late April. Seems like rejection letters come mid-May. Hopefully, you get an acceptance letter by mid-April!!! NOW ALL WE CAN DO IS WAIT!! :))))))
@KELLYYYY SERIOUSLYYY!! we have another month left at the earliest. I feel your pain! This is my second time applying to USC!! I was rejected in high school, now applying as a sophomore transfer.
@js119999 same here! I don’t know if i can handle being rejected by them twice
@KELLYYYY if you want, I can chance you based on your stats! I’m sure USC will see that you have a strong dedication towards their school. LOL even your profile picture is USC. Continue to try hard b/c efforts won’t betray you! :))) hopefully we will both get acceptance letters in April/May/June
@js119999 Well it sucks because I had amazing stats in high school. Like I should’ve gotten in. But you just never know. That’s why I’m trying not to get my hopes up this time. Whatever’s meant to be will happen I guess
@KELLYYYY aw I see. USC counselors of all people will definitely notice that. HAHA. I’m trying to not hope for anything as well, but sigh. It’s hard to muffle a goal that you put so much into. :(((
AND YIKES! I forgot how expensive commitment deposits were. USC’s is $300 so technically not as “expensive” as other schools, but wow. I was reminded once again about how broke I am.
Can anyone chance me, haha? I don’t know … I’ve been feeling a bit down because I messed up this quarter … feeling very discouraged. I’m just mad at myself for choking on my final and dropping from a solid A to a B. My cumulative GPA is still fairly competitive (I think, I hope), but my GPA technically shows a downward trend, and I did get a B in the one class that directly pertains to my major (Accounting). That would probably look terrible … though I’m not sure if I should be sending my Winter Quarter grades, or if I should be waiting until an SGR (if I do get one … will email my advisor about it). I’m just so nervous, and don’t know if I can wait a few more months knowing that I already messed up. Thank you, and good luck to everyone!

@zettasyntax I guess USC cares more about grades than what your GPA comes out to be haha thanks for your help!
Anyone know if they’ve started reviewing transfer applications yet? So over all the updates on freshmans!
@hitherto OH MY GOODNESS ME TOO. like congrats to them, but like i wish they sent it all together at once… they’ve had our applications since february, and then some people have been saying on the thread that others don’t get a reply by july. it’s so late and i wish they gave us more time for planning especially because we’re transfers.
I know in my case, if I don’t hear back from USC before May 1st, then I have to pay a commitment deposit to another university, and then lose that money if I do get accepted into university.
Which leads me to ask, do you guys know of anyone who’s done that and got their commitment deposit back??
@anxiousmac Yeah I know what you mean, I’m hoping for a decision before June because I have to put down a lease deposit for next year at my current school, but I won’t know whether to pay or not if I don’t have a decision. I’ve never really heard of getting a deposit back because they exist solely as deposits (aka they make money even if you don’t follow through), if that makes sense lol.
@hitherto I got a spring grade request a couple weeks ago so I think they’re just starting to review transfer applications.
@anxiousmac From what I’ve gathered, I think the people who hear back in July are those who respond to SGRs late, due to various reasons like their spring semester ending in June. I’m definitely going to pay the commitment deposit to my UC choice if I don’t hear back from USC first. I haven’t heard of anyone getting it back.
@chjd22 Oh good! When did you submit your application?
@hitherto I sent it the day before it was due. I had to make sure everything was perfect haha
@hitherto I think the people that hear back in July are people that attend a quarter system school and get an SGR. Since the spring quarter typically finishes around the last week of June. Then you have to send in your transcript and wait a week or so for them to process.
I also was asked to submit my SGR, along with my past high school transcripts. I turned everything in, lets hope I find out before July.
