@wickedwarrior777 McCombs
I’d say your GPA is good, but what are your other credentials? I’d like to know:
Essay quality
Number of letters of Rec
Participation in clubs both in and out of school
Anything else that you think is pertinent
So that I can chance you.
Wanna chance me?
GPA: 3.82
Applying for COLA
Have done 4 different internships at various hospitals and am going abroad this summer to participate in a “Doctors Without Borders” internship as well.
I am involved both in school and in the community. I have some volunteering that I mentioned in my resume and my essays are pretty good.
I have three well written LORs from doctors that I have worked with in the past so the UT admissions representatives know I’m not making it up that I actually have participated in many various internships.
hi guys! I’m having trouble between deciding whether i should drop a class with a W and have a 4.0 or if i should stay in it and get a 3.8.
I’m trying to transfer to mccombs from utd and had a 3.93 last semester and i know that ut cares about gpa a lot, what do y’all think?
@anicelife drop, UT doesn’t care about drop. Call for yourself and find out!
Guys how do i check out my GPA as transfer? I want to see if all my classes were transferred, but I am having a difficult time finding it.
Are you asking to see if your classes transfer to UT? If so, you can use the UT Automated Transfer Equivalency System (ATE).
I checked there and also checked the Interactive Degree Audit, but one of my courses does not show one the IDA nor my GPA. I am concerned if it was not counted.
@joselrnz use this:
http://www.utdallas.edu/fye/gpa/
Input your letter grades and hours per class. UTD and UT are both on the same GPA system. Note: If you school does not use the +,- system then just use your normal A,B,C,D,F grades
Ahh I see other peoples stats on here with all these internships and I get worried… I hope a 4.0, volunteering, a graduation speech, PTK, and high school club will be enough for COLA…
Hi can someone chance me?
Major- Public Relations in Moody School of Communications
I attend Collin Community College
GPA- 3.44 by time of application review
Started off taking business classes, but switched majors (wrote about in essay)
2 Essays
4 LOR
1 internship related to major
1 job experience related to field of study
around 20 volunteer hours
in High School- 3 clubs
in College- 3 clubs
I’m worried about my 3.44 GPA although I have seen people get in with 3.4’s last year.
To all McComb’s transfers: Just remembers that the average transfer GPA was 3.92 last year, and 3.95 the year before. If your GPA is below this threshold, keep in mind that you must have above average essays, resume, and letters of recommendation or you will probably be denied. Good luck to all of you though!
Man I just want to get into UT, this is my second time! The first time I didn’t meet the min application hours and I got denied.
Oh man, did you not have 30 hours completed or something?
Hi,
I am trying to transfer from Colgate University, a liberal arts school in the northeast. I have a 3.2, but my school is pretty rigorous. I am also a Texas resident and have a good resume, essay, and rec letters. Where do you all think I stand among people transferring from community colleges with 4.0s?
@aatwe28 No UT Austin does not take in account students alma mater (Unless you go to like MIT or Harvard, then they will obviously look into it)
@UTMccombs2017 Yup, 27hrs
I HATE WAITING FOR THIS ADMISSION DECISIONS!!!
I applied for CS, I know I am a strong applicant but the WAIT IS KILLING ME
Anyone play any video games PC or Xbox One, I need to burn time so badly!!!
