2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

Hey Guys! I currently attend Texas Tech University and have applied to transfer to UT for the fall of 2017. I currently have 16 Hours of actual college credit and 9 hours from AP classes in high school. Im doing 16 more hours this semester. Im applying for COLA (Psychology) and I’m currently (and will be) Pre-Med.

GPA: 4.0

AP Classes: CALC I, Statistics, and ENG I

College Classes Completed: Gen CHEM I, CHEM I Lab, Intro to psychology, Politcal Science, College Alg and US Hist I.

Current Classes: Gen CHEM II, CHEM II Lab, Intro to sociology, CFAS (public speaking), Intro to Cinema, and US Hist II.

Extra Curricular High school: Tons of club soccer and high school soccer, member of 2 clubs in highschool, National Honors Society, and worked a job as well.

Extra Curricular College: Member of Beta Upsilon Chi, and volunteer at a Children’s hospital 4 hours a week (didn’t have time to do much else due to pledging a fraternity last semester).

My essays are decent (I only wrote the two required because I haven’t really had any outstanding hardships in my life)

Two letters of recommendation: History Professor and Psychology professor.

What are my chances??
confident I will keep the 4.0 this semester.

You’re in. Congrats in advance!!

you really think so??

Yea, 4.0s usually always get in

Just wondering has anybody that applied to the college of Natural Sciences received their answer? I’ve been waiting and like everybody else I’m super nervous! I will have 57 credits after this semester and a 4.0 gpa. I’m only seventeen so I don’t know if they’ll factor in my age or not

@Rmitchell1021 what major at CNS?

Human Biology

I think you’ll get in, Bio at UT isn’t competitive and you have a 4.0

I am applying to EE rn! How many hours are you at?

Did anyone here apply/get accepted into COLA? If so, can y’all post your major and GPA and some other credentials?

So my deposit is due today but I’m still waiting on financial aid… called and they said I could either wait until the FA comes appeal when my application is cancelled (although it’s not for sure that the appeal will be successful) or I can accept the admission offer and request a fee exemption? This is so confusing. If anyone has any advice I am in desperate need of it.

So sad what happened at UT today :frowning: I know I’m not in yet but I feel like it happened to my community

same. breaks my heart.

ya, RIP Fellow Longhorn

Shocked to hear what happened today…hope those that were injured are okay

It really is sad, I feel awful for the victims and their families. Never want to see that

@utcswannabe hey I recently appealed to change my major from cs to mathematics, my major change request is still under review. Do you think that I have a good shot at getting into Mathematics with a 3.732 GPA? Or if not maybe my chances at getting secondary, which is Chemistry?

If it helps I got in today. Computer Engineering.
