2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

@CavalierKenneth Post your stats (GPA and hours).

CS at UT is one of the best in the nation and hard to get into, congratulations.

@madeleine2020 I’ll let everyone know as soon as I get a response

Hey guys, I just got accepted to McCombs today.
I’m an international student transferring from Texas A&M (Mays).
I attended a community college in California last year and applied to UT, but got rejected then decided to go to Texas A&M. I tried to apply again this year and got in.
Goodluck for all of you who are still waiting on the decision! fingercrossed

Hey @quin97, I’m transferring from A&M as well! Although I’m a Texas resident. Haven’t made it in yet, I have a 3.87 with 60 hours. Could you post your GPA and hours so I have an idea of if I’m competitive? Thank you in advance!

@adhikariashok, congrats. Thanks for letting us know.

What is a good GPA to transfer into COLA? Can someone please let me know?thanks

@wickedwarrior777 On the UT page it says 3.6 admitted to COLA. But I believe its lower because that 3.6 also includes people who were rejected from their first major outside of COLA. like engineering. I would probably say 3.6+ should be a lock for COLA. I myself am worried lol, I have a 3.6 or 3.7 depending on final exam. Applied for History

I’m gonna have atleast a 3.733+ for sure, but I’m obviously aiming for higher. Getting kinda worried seeing all these people with 3.8+, but I guess they need those since they’re applying for McCombs and Cockrell and CS. I also applied with less than 30 hrs so I don’t get my decision until the summer. Does anyone know if they accept less people or something like that in the summer for those with less than 30 hours?

Also, where does it say 3.6? I’ve been looking on the UT website but haven’t found any statistics

@colboycsat

With a 3.6 or 3.7 I’m sure both of you are getting in. I got into COLA with a 3.7 and with 38 credits. One of my good friends got into COLA as well with a 3.5, so y’all should be good

Ok cool. Thanks!!

@Kimberlytori

Was your GPA a flat 3.7 or like a 3.73 or something?

@wickedwarrior777 No problem! And it was a 3.72 and I also didn’t have any recommendation letters when I applied just to let you know!

@quin97 What is your GPA?

Hey do you guys think I have a good chance to getting into Mathematics or Chemistry in CNS with a 3.732 GPA?

Called admissions, they confirmed that the bulk of decisions/next wave whatever you want to call it will come around mid-may. So we can expect to hear something in the next few weeks! Hang in there guys!

Probably within like 2 weeks at the max

@wickedwarrior777 i got into COLA with a 3.67

Wow lots has been posted since I last checked in…

Now that many people have been accepted and we have an idea of what to expect I will ask, with a 4.0 what are my chances of getting into COLA?

Pretty much guaranteed the 4.0 at the end of the semester considering in order to not make an A in my classes I’d have to fail the finals…

With a 4.0, you’re probably guaranteed your major. Congrats
