I’m sorry if someone has already asked this, but I’ve already been accepted and I was wondering if my grades for this semester need to be above a certain GPA to guarantee my admission?
Is anyone applying for the transfer Terry scholarship?
I am. I just sent in my application today.
@wesbest now I’m not 100% sure cuz I’m not an expert on the subject, but I’m 99.99% sure that once you receive your acceptance they can’t back out on you only weeks later if your GPA isn’t maintained!
I have a GPA of a 3.40…how are my chances of getting into COLA (Economics)? I currently go to University of Texas at Dallas, and now I kind of regret not going to a community college to get a better GPA ugh
@UTplsacceptme since you are applying for COLA, which is easier, I think you have a solid chance. Good luck!
I applied with a 3.6 as a social work major. I’m transferring as a junior from the University of Arkansas. I wrote 3 essays, and had extensive volunteer and work experience related to my major. I still haven’t heard anything? Does anybody know when we may be hearing? And do I have a good chance of getting in?
Alright y’all, last “chance me” before I head out of the country.
Applied for an “open major” in COLA meaning that there is no competition for my major and as long as I am good enough to be accepted into COLA, I will be guaranteed my major.
GPA: 3.824
3 LORs from doctors
2 solid essays about the healthcare system
3 internships (radiation oncology, cardiology, and one more this summer where I’m going to India and doing a CT surgery, urology, and opthamology rotation).
Participation in one or two other clubs in school.
Participation in lots of HS clubs (I’m a freshman rn so it was just last year)
Any opinions?
Happy to chance anyone else who needs it. Post your stats again if it’s on another page pls.
Good luck to you all,
ww777
@wickedwarrior777 think you’re totally fine! Do you mind looking at mine? My essays were about mental health stigma and my passions for social welfare and justice. I have volunteer experience with the Arkansas Foster Care system, as a mentor for low income children, a camp counselor for low income families and foster care, and 2 years of job experience as an after school program leader. My overall GPA is 3.6, but my GPA for my major (Social Work) is 4.0.
I think you should be good also. Your essays are very unique in my opinion and that alone will probably make your application stand out. You GPA is good enough for COLA. Your extracurriculars are obviously going to help your application. All I have to say is “see u at UT”
Best,
ww777
@wickedwarrior777, enjoy your time in india. Good luck!
Thx bro @Osaidmk1
@unclefe I’m in the exact same shoes at you, same GPA, same EC’s, and same extracurricular activities and everything else except I had leadership roles in college and started an iPhone repair company. Hopefully thats enough to get into mechanical but if not I’ll probably try an internal transfer like you.
Pure curiosity,
Is a 3.824 enough to transfer into CNS biochemistry external transfer?
does anyone know if having less than 30 hours and having to wait get a decision until after this semester (when I send my final transcript for this semester) will affect my chance of getting in? (COLA)
@wickedwarrior777 Are you instate or out of state?
In state @utcswannabe
I also have quite a few internships in hospitals both in town and abroad
@wickedwarrior777 A guy with a 3.54 got in last year. With actual experience, it seems pretty likely you could get in with your stats.
Please weigh in on what you think my chances are for external resident McCombs transfer:
- GPA is 3.866 at A&M, but I’m about to bomb this semester, I don’t know if it matters though
- Interned at Bank of America last summer
- Had good essays (I think?) that tied into why UT was a good fit for me
- I have 60 credit hours after this semester
- Some volunteering, nothing crazy
- Committee member on an investing club
That’s it, what do you guys think?
