@Leezy1724 What was your second choice? I put Biology since I’m currently a bio major at UT Dallas. I’m already admitted with a transfer scholarship to UT Arlington for Nursing, but like you UT is my dream school:(
If you got admitted to your second choice, would you transfer anyways and attempt an internal transfer?
@scientist89 I’d love to hear your input, too. I’m not sure what the limitations are for UT students registering for Nursing classes (and any Nursing prerequisite) from outside of the major.
@supersaiyanhan I didn’t put a second major because I have backup schools that I have a better chance to get into. Besides, I didn’t take other credits that the CNS needed. Also, the College of Nursing only accepts in fall semester not spring, so internal transfer isn’t worth it and I’d rather be in another nursing program without waiting full year to apply at UT I got accepted to UT Arlington as well, but they screwed my application for nursing.
@scientist89 Lool you already set in there, but thanks for shooting down my chances when I already know prolly wont get accepted. XD
Engineering is taking awhile I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone getting accepted yet. I’m applying for mechanical first choice and aerospace second. Really hoping they’ll release decisions this weekend!
@Leezy1724 Sorry, I didn’t know that. I thought both of you needed transfer stats so that you could calculate your chances
@supersaiyanhan I also wondered why they accepted only 7/329 applicants last year. It is also strange that the admitted GPA is only 3.29.
In another word, applicants have 1.5% chances to be accepted.
@ scientist89 stop acting like a bigot, as you become more educated, your ignorance level should decrease!
@declanbb I heard other people got rejections for engineering majors. I know someone who applied for mechanical first choice and EE second choice and he got rejected last month. All the people I know who applied for cockrell school got either rejected or still waiting, so yea I didn’t hear about anyone getting accepted yet.
Don’t listen to negative Nancys… UT admits by using a holistic review policy. Yes, you can be super smart, but if you can’t write and have nothing intriguing besides an A… you won’t make it. UT values personal experiences, perseverance, and goals. So, keep your heads high guys. If you are still waiting it’s generally a good sign.
(Validity of my claim: I was admitted June 17th last year as an out of state white female student with 2 Fs and 8-ish Ws from 10 years ago. You can read my previous comments here from last semester. I encourage people on this year’s thread to read last years. It was MUCH more active).
Well, an EE applicant here too! Nothing yet.
I was jsut admitted to UT Austin few hours ago for Summer 2017 as biochemistry major.
here is my stat:
UC Riverside - 40 quarter units, average GPA of 3.1
California CC - 45 semester units, average GPA of 3.8
5 student organizations(including 2 presidents and 2 vice presidents)
no internship or research
@UTorPSU Congratulations
@britni12 isn’t June 17 too late? it’s after decision deadline June 15th. Plus what major did you apply for?
idk maybe we transfer fall 2017 applicants can maybe get our results today???
I really hope so. @Ineedtoknow88
Final grades finally posted and final transcript sent to UT, ended the year with a 3.875 and applying to COLA Philosophy. Can’t waaaaaaaaaaait for this decision to drop
Apparently it wasn’t too late, because that was the morning I grabbed my phone as soon as I woke up and saw Congratulations on my screen.
I applied to Biology and was admitted to liberal arts. I attended Fall 2016, went to ACC last semester to wait for in state status at UT, and I was readmitted to UT for Fall 2017. Don’t believe me, I can provide you with evidence. Read last years thread, many were informed after June 15th.
@DivBookstore I have 2 pictures of 2016 transfer stats. I took them when I was in the admission office. How could you call me a bigot?
I even know how many applicants were admitted to individual colleges last year.
Last year, only 7/329 were admitted to Nursing, and only 5 of the 7 enrolled.
Hey friends. I’m an RTF major and when I sent in my application in February, I had 45 credit hours from ACC.
Will I hear back before June? I called a couple weeks ago and the lady said I should hear by mid-May, but here we are and I’m afraid I won’t hear back until, like, mid-June. Especially since a lot of people in last year’s thread didn’t hear back till mid-June, too.
I just really gotta know because if I didn’t get in, I was planning on signing onto a lease for a house in Denton. …But I gotta have it signed by June. It’s a predicament.
Thanks
