2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

@ajaxo710 congrats!! “Just a 3.8”??? That is a good GPA. I’m glad you got in. They recognize students more than GPA and I’m sure they recognized all you’re qualities including your good GPA

Been lurking this forum got denied earlier today 3.55 gpa 2 essays 4 letters of recommendation including from a UT alumni and two army officers from COLA govt, really wanted to go to UT. Oh well I guess I am heading to Texas A&M as my backup, or go back to community college I really don’t know. I’ll try again next semester hopefully, and for fall 2018. Best of luck to the rest of you guys.

Whoop! I’m gonna be an Aggie!

@UTCStransferr Did they say specifically for your major and/or school or just in general?

@Pentanorix You should submit an appeal.

@UTChemTransfer they just said I should be getting a decision today or this weekend, nothing else

@Pentanorix what was your second major?

@Pentanorix Just curious, were you involved in some good EC?

@colboycsat @UTChemTransfer @UTCStransferr Yeah I’ll defiantly appeal one of my recommendations never showed up on mystatus when I mailed it months ago, but I’m not counting on anything. I had 1st choice government and second choice psychology. Also I had over 250 hours of community service/volunteer hours along with extensive involvement with my high schools JROTC unit even after graduation.

yea now im scared. COLA messing with me

Is anyone who’s been accepted applying for flag petitions?

Just admitted to econ

@UTMccombs2017 glad you atleast got into the college itself. Maybe internal transfer the year after?

Denied RTF. My gpa was a 3.45 so I’m positive that’s why I didn’t get accepted. I had 3 LORs but not much ECs. My only edge was that I had 3+ years working for a video production company with a very impressive resume, but at the end of the day my gpa just wasn’t there. I’m already enrolled at UNT I wasn’t expecting to get accepted… my goal now is to get that gpa way up and apply again next year. Good luck to all who were accepted.

Just got rejected from COLA! 3.3 GPA, 1 LOR, 4 EC, lots of work experience (including two summers interning at a consumer advocacy org in D.C.) from University of Kentucky. Applied as a Government major. Already committed to A&M so it’s no sweat off my back, but figured it would be helpful to post for everyone next year.

Got accepted as an internal transfer to CS!!! I’m so happy and relieved!!

Finally rejected from COLA

What was your gpa?

How do you actually appeal? I cannot seem to figure it out.

@masterblitz71 gpa?

Nevermind I got it
