Has anyone gotten good or bad news yet from Goucher? My d applied early action, but not early decision. I'm interested to know if people have heard anything yet.

I doubt anybody will have heard back before at least a coupple weeks from now unless they applied ED. I just got an email saying they won’t mail out EA decisions till February 1. Absolutely killing me hahaha.

I applied ED to Goucher, and the date for acceptance letters was Dec 15th. I rec’d mine on Dec 16th, a day late. However, I was happy to see I’d rec’d a $40,000 scholarship and over $15,000 in other awards. Needless to say, I’ll be at Goucher and am happy to be a Gopher.

Congrats Npur! Only a few more weeks until the Feb. 1 EA decision deadline. Fingers crossed everyone!

My dd got accepted EA to Goucher - an admissions rep just called to let her know. She is really excited!

gulp haven’t gotten any calls. dear lord, don’t let me be deferred/rejected haha. Been waiting nervously for the last two weeks for a decision.

ci0161 - Don’t worry just yet. Our daughter is a Junior at Goucher, and she never received a phone call from an admissions rep, just a big fat envelope with the good news! Good luck!

PS. She applied Early Action, and again the fat envelope only in the mail.

I applied EA, too. As luck would have it, I would have applied ED if I’d visited the school before the deadline.

The admissions rep did say the letter was in the mail. The phone call was very unexpected, I usually just let the phone go to voice mail, so I’m glad I picked up. Tomorrows mail, I hope?

DS was expecting to hear yesterday. Goucher is the last school to report in to him and the first one not to be very scrupulous with the deadline.

Nothing in today’s mail, so we have to wait another day to get the letter and details. Sigh. They mail on 2/1- they don’t try to deliver by 2/1. It’s true the three other schools we have heard from beat their deadlines.

I know that MD students got acceptances in the mail today. Nothing in PA.

Mailing less promptly than other schools puts them at a slight disadvantage, I think, especially if some have actually been telephoned already.

nothing yet in North Carolina… :(

Nothing Yet in NYC

No word yet in Vermont.

Do they call everyone who gets in, or only select people? And if they only call certain people then why them and not others?

The admission person who called my daughter told her she had gotten some merit award. I don’t really know the details, that’s why I want to see the letter! She said she was calling merit award winners.

Congrats to your daughter 4yorkshiremen. EA acceptances can sure taken the pressure off while waiting for the RD decisions.
