I never really considered Northeastern, I'm really getting interested in it now. Here's my info:
Grades and rank: 96 uw, 105 w, and ranked 8/404 as of Sopomore year. Junior Year- 98 uw, 108 w, rank either went up or stayed the same. The classes are all honors and AP, including scores: APUSH(5), AP Euro(5), AP World(4), AP Lit(3), AP Bio(3).

Senior Schedule- Includes all honors and 3 AP's(Macro, Lang, and Calc AB)

Test Score: ACT-28( 29 superscore , do they do this?)

Extra Curriculars, Volunteer, and Awards: JV Baseball two years, one year on varsity(hopefully two), symphonic orchestra since 4th grade(first chair viola), treasurer of Symphonic Orchestra, former Vice President of Intel Science Club and created a project for Long Island's competition, NHS member(going to run for officer), Foreign Language Honor Society, School Tour Guide, over 100 hours of Volunteer Service(with various groups), and helped create a book for Armed Service members that gets circulated to veterans and current soldiers. I have won 3 awards at my school for excellence in English, Italian, and Pre Calculus. Also received AP scholar with honors.

I plan on majoring in something like Poli Sci, History, or International Relations/Politics/Studies. So what are my chances?

You seem like you have a good chance, and yes an admissions counselor told me they do superscore (I asked when I toured).

I use the website ■■■■■■■■■■ a lot - if you register and enter all your information into a profile, it matches you up on a chart of accepted and rejected students so you can see your chances!

I think you have a solid chance. You could always work to ring your act up a little bit just to help your chances. Overall you should be a likely candidate. Good luck. I have relatives as well as friends who go there and absolutely love it.

Also look at Boston university. I don’t really know much about it other than the fact that few people I know go there and love it. Plus it’s in Boston.

My son is a freshman there and absolutely loves it. Your grades and curriculum are in line with his last two years of high school. Last year Northeastern had over 37,000 applicants since the Cooperative Learning aspect of the education is a “leg up” with graduating with work experience.

Boston is a great place and Northeastern is even better. I am so impressed by the school administration and students. They do superscore.

For some students (this will probably not affect you) they do offer NU-IN, which is an 'student abroad" program for fall freshman, with an entrance in January.

I think it’s not bad. I know someone who got really good financial aid to the point that they almost paid nothing. He did come from a low income family though.

Maybe look at university of Connecticut. I’ve never been there but I’ve heard that it has a bit of a new England feel to it and it could be a safety for you.

Your GPA is good, but your ACT is on the lower end. If you think you’d do better, you might consider taking it again (though I’m guessing that you’ve already done so once to have superscoring).

I would say your chances are good, but not 100%.
