Current College: NJ University ranked #70ish
High School GPA: 3.7
SAT: 2140
College GPA: ?
Transferring as: freshman (will have 38 credits by the end of freshman year)
ECs: 1200 volunteer hours, played for a nationally ranked soccer club, varsity track & field, NHS, health education club
Applying for: Fall 2018
Where I’m applying: as of now, only the University of Michigan. If my GPA for the first semester is great, I’ll add a few more.

Application was sent on 8/28 and I called and admissions and they have received all required materials. They told me to be patient and my application will be marked complete within a few weeks.
Note: Stil technically a freshman. Graduated HS in May of 2016; Didn’t begin college education until Winter 2017 due to my junior hockey career; took many summer classes; met with Kines admissions counselor and she laid out the specific courses to take for my major; mentioned my HS GPA won’t be an issue if I can continue to do well in more classes ( particularly Statistics she mentioned and ended up receiving a 4.0 in stats in the summer)
Current College: Oakland University (Some courses at Oakland Community College)
College GPA combined at OU and OCC: 3.86
Credits: Applied with 24; Will be at 37 by end of current fall semester. All courses are transferable and are prerequisites
Major applied into: Sports Management; School of Kinesiology
EC: Played junior and tier 1 hockey entire life; Volunteer work; 3 jobs; religious work; other activities
Essays: 10/10
Letters of Rec: 2 From really important classes for my major (stats and group com)
HS: Top private high school in the state
HS GPA: 2.84
ACT: 22
Did not apply to U-M in high school
@Mantha3993 The main thing holding you back is your HS stats.
That being said, it doesn’t hurt to apply, but be prepared.
College GPA is weighed more correct? @TransferStalker
Since you only had <1 year worth of college coursework at the time of applying, your college stats will be weighted equally against your high school GPA.
If you’re rejected, it’ll be because of your college GPA / ACT scores. Therefore, you should consider what your next move is if this application cycle doesn’t pan out.
