@Mastodon97 grades are very important but I’d say if you have a 3.5+ with enough requirements completed you have a shot
@penntousc Thats what I’m confused about. I have a 3.81 im confused about the requirements. I know i have the writing completed but it says you need algebra too. But i’ve already taken precalculus and statistics in college, therefore I didn’t even need algebra? Is this going to hurt?
@Mastodon97 you’re fine with math, they say algebra meaning that needs to be the minimum level of math completed
@stahboy oh I read that completely wrong haha I thought there was a guy on here who was from Stanford. But in that case USC over Cornell !
@penntousc Cool, thanks for telling me. Also I was wondering if you know how much they look at the recommended courses for the major they recommend, for example I’m an economics major and I have two of the three recommendations. Are they really just “suggested” or do they take whether or not you’ve finished them heavily?
@Mastodon97 I’d say the recommended courses are important, but not as important as the actual major requirements and general education courses
@penntousc Thanks, I looked it over and it looks like I have 1 class to fulfill my requirements for my major (Economics). I’m actually already enrolled in that class for my next quarter. Would it help to send an email to admissions saying im in the process of taking the last requirement or am i completely screwed
@Mastodon97 it wouldn’t hurt, I’d do it just in case if I were you
@Pantafootball why USC over Cornell? Just curious
Has anyone recently had their required financial aid documents disappear from the required section? I’ve had the noncustodial profile application under required documents since February 26th even though I’ve submitted a waiver and a confirming letter for that document… just wondering because I’m worried that they didn’t approve the waiver, but i figured that they’d send an email stating that… so if anyone has made any recent progress with financial aid documents, let me know!
@stahboy I just love USC social life and also the academic prestige they have. Especially for a school like Marshall. Plus I’m a California native and I would feel like home with the beach 40 minutes away and Disneyland… in n out I could just keep going haha. But that’s just me personally.
@penntousc whenever I upload any documents, it usually takes 2 days and then it’ll be gone from the list. My parents are also separated but they didn’t require me any noncustodial profile app (probably because he lives in a different country) so I figured they just waived it.
anyone know how many transfer applications this year?
Has anyone gotten their IRS nonfiling form from the mail!!? I still haven’t gotten mine and it’s been about 3 weeks and I don’t want my financial aid to be hindered because of it. I know usc said there’s no official due date for that form but it’s quite annoying that it’s not here yet.
@dreamla it took about 4 weeks before I got it and I did the paper request.
@dreamla I’m still waiting it’s also been 3 weeks for me!
@dreamla so unnecessary! Do they really think I’m making six figures or something.
Hey Everyone,
I was just wondering if the completion of the financial aid documents (CSS profile and 2015 tax returns) were required for admission. One of my peers told me that USC would automatically reject applicants who fail to complete this section.
Thanks !
@Warrior106 whoever told you that is 110% incorrect, lol admissions and financial aid are two completely separate offices. Applying for financial aid is not required for admission, so the only possible consequence for not completing those forms is being denied financial aid. I don’t even think that’s the case though because I sent in some forms at the end of February and they’re still sitting in the required documents section, which leads me to believe that the office of financial aid hasn’t even made it around to my financial aid file, and so the deadline is more loose than they make it out to be.
@umaasa @Pantafootball hopefully it comes soon because thats the only thing thats keeping from my fafsa being processed and i don’t want to get it last minute and not get as much fafsa because it was processed so late! so dumb and annoying lol the usc admission person claimed that he was annoyed too and its something for the “feds” and that next year they aren’t going to ask for it. I wish they would just process the fafsa without it lol if only I had some sort of credit to get it through the online server, with that option you get it right away lol.
