2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

Does anyone have an idea when they will start accepting/sending SGRs for non-TTP students?

@pulpfiction6 Starting in April for those with good stats and the rest in May - June. SGR applicants are expected to hear June to Mid-July.

Do you guys know if intl transfers hear back the same time US transfers do?

@yeetnbhd im an intl transfer too. what mailing address did u give in the app? i gave my home country address and not the US one. lol

Has anyone who goes to a 4-year institution (i.e not a CC) on TTP been accepted?

@arteest1 He didn’t mention it to me earlier, but I’m guessing so. I asked him, but he hasn’t replied back yet.

@EnduranceArtist I was accepted Friday on ttp. I was at sdsu 4 year with a 3.88 Marshall

Is anyone else you.usc application status down?

This morning I was trying to view the status of my application in the portal but it was not loading at all so I logged out and decided to log back in. The log in page now says “some users are experiencing delays viewing their decision letters in youSC. We are looking into this issue and hope to have it resolved soon. Thank you for your patience”. Has anyone else been having trouble viewing their application status?

Yes, says to check back later due to heavy load or something like that right now.

I did some research and found out that USC has reached the end of the freshman application review period and have sent out letters over the weekend (for the freshman class)- which is why the application status in the portal is down. I was slightly hoping that they notified transfer students but I knew that it was too early. This is good news though because now the application committee can fully focus on transfers

Did anyone else have to change their youSC password today?

@arteest1 thats only because you were already logged in, thats normal

Yup that is correct. Up next is TTP applicants (those who will receive a straight up acceptance and sgr) and next are regular applicants with outstanding stats (probably will hear mid-April to late April) and the rest of the applicants in May and June. Good luck everyone and don’t dwell too much on this thread. I was once all like you last year. If you’re a sophomore don’t get caught up if you haven’t heard back. Most of the sophomore will hear in May or late April with a SGR or a rejection. Junior applicants you will hear in April or May depending on your stats. If you’re taking prereqs such as math, eng or acct (talking about marshall applicants) you might get a SGR instead of a straight up acceptance.

What are good stats?

Above 3.7 with most of GE’s?

@cc2LAuniversity yes, I’m assuming 3.7+ with everything finished and 64+ units completed. I am hoping I will hear back in April: Everything completed for marshall (accounting, math, english, economics all A’s), 68 transferable units completed, 3.9gpa, 1 letter of rec from my accounting professor whom I helped by being a teacher assistant to help her students/ accounting tutor for school. and 8/10 average essay, talked about my passion for accounting and research.

Prospective marshall applicant. 3.9 gpa… but I haven’t completed calculus. Am I screwed?

@balshii Not screwed if you’re currently taking it this spring, but you’ve pretty much all but guaranteed that you’ll be getting an SGR though. One of my favorite people on here from a couple of years back had business calculus in-progress and he got an SGR. I think he was pretty lucky too because he didn’t learn about his acceptance until July 15th or so and he still got in for the fall! Despite USC even telling him if he was accepted that late, it would almost certainly be for spring.

@balshii I knew one person who had a 3.6gpa and was taking calculus and acct in the spring. He got a sgr and was accepted late in July for Spring. So no you’re not screwed. You have a good chance given you do well in Spring.

Hey guys, I got rejected as a freshman applicant and was looking to apply as a transfer next year. Any tips on this whole process and how to boost my admissions chances? Thank you!
