@transmitter2342 assuming you’re a marshall applicant (most of us are lol), make sure you complete the english and math requirements for marshall school of business and all or most of the GEs. Do not waste your time taking accounting or economic classes (unless you want to apply to UCs as backups) because USC prefers that you take their classes, accounting and business econ, at their school. If you do however complete two accounting courses they can waive it and you only take one accounting classes at their school. If you’re not working part time, I suggest taking a full time semester load which is 12+ semester units. Try to complete as many GEs as you can as that will increase your chance of acceptance since they want you to focus on your core classes at usc and not on useless GEs
I am on TTP and have not heard back from them. Should I be concerned? Will they be rejecting people next?
@pomeranian4rich Do you have any idea what a classes we should be expecting…junior transfers? Advanced accounting/Econ? Idk what else
Say the CS requirements pre reqs end at Calc 2 and Lab based sciences and I’ve completed them but I elected to take an additional math class this spring (Linear Algebra) and its really hard. If I ever do end up getting a C by the time of a SGR is it better I drop it or continue taking the class?
As a freshman applicant I was rejected and offered TTP. I didn’t apply after freshman year and decided to stick it out for another year but decided to submit for junior year. Does that still qualify me as a TTP applicant or would I be considered a Regular transfer applicant?
I was wondering how do they know if one is TTP? There was nowhere to put it on the application. Maybe it’s in their system
@bugajskj for business admin. you have to take their core business classes which are accounting, business econ, business communication, finance, decision-making/management and then you have your upper division courses that focus on concentration/specialization you can choose. you can check their website it has all the info you need.
if you’re majoring in accounting, you will take core business classes like marshall students but your upper divisions are mostly accounting related classes like audit, tax, intermediate accounting and etc.
@chap97 I heard that they ask you if you would consider doing the ttp for one year or two year. The fact that you ignored your ttp and didn’t take the offer, they might have threw it away im assuming. You can try calling the admission office and ask about it. I don’t know if they still have it on file.
@hopefulunderdog usually you are given a letter inviting you to the TTP. From what I heard from my friends you will be meeting with your admission counselors to work on what courses you should take for the 1st year of college before transferring to USC. They will probably mention that it’s not a guaranteed acceptance to USC, but honestly I feel like it is lol ONLY if you achieve a 3.6+ gpa in your 1st year of college.
@itslife123 I honestly do not know what’s better. a Withdrawal on your transcript or a C… hmm. I honestly think a C is better. I have heard many admission counselors say that seeing lots of W’s on students’ transcripts is a red flag. but if this is your first Withdrawal, I don’t think they will care much about it, unless you have 2 or 3 W’s already. They want to see students handling full-time course loads and not dropping out half way through the semester.
@itslife123 lol im taking linear hellgebra right now too. its killing me.
@hopefulunderdog you should be given/invited to the TTP after you are rejected in your senior year of high school. There is nowhere on your application where you can sign up for the program lol
@itslife123 @IwcWombat thank god I decided not to take calc 3 and linear algebra at the same time lol
@pomeranian4rich I did go through the TTP counseling in June. I was just wondering
@hopefulunderdog then your TTP is already on their system. If you didn’t hear back, it might be a straight up acceptance for you. This is just my speculation. People I know from the ttp heard back on the first week of April with an acceptance last year.
@pomeranian4rich I don’t wanna get my hopes up but this makes me worry less. Thanks for the information
Has everyones financial aid updated?
@IwcWombat if your finaid still hasn’t updated, I would call the finaid office because its been almost a month since the deadline passed.
I hate it my SMC Linear Algebra teaches at UCLA and he says our Linear Curriculum is way harder than the one at the UCLA classes. USC probably won’t even realize that. The thing is @pomeranian4rich if I get worse than a C ill def drop and take it in the summer at a different CC. However, if it looks like im gonna get a C i really don’t know because a C looks bad and I’ve never taken a W so i’m tempted LOL. This last semester gah!!!
Does anyone know how long it takes USC to send a decision after they receive my winter grades? I’m going to send them my winter transcript, and I’m on TTP, so I’m curious how much time they need to come to a decision about my application after they receive it.
