@CC2080 Trojan transfer plan
Thank you so much this helped a lot and I think I’m not gonna go for CS Viterbi because math is not my strong side and I wouldn’t say that I am super interested enough to go all through that. @penntousc @zettasyntax @itslife123
@dreamla thank you and USC has to offer you that right?
@CC2080 from my understanding, yes. It’s first offered discreetly at the end of rejection letters for first year applicants by saying something like “we were very interested in your application and would like to further discuss it with you in May/June” something like that. I think then, your USC advisor will tell you about the program and you can choose to accept or decline the offer.
HI EVERYONE, if you click “SUBMIT APPLICATION DOCUMENTS” and then “DOCUMENT LIBRARY”… do you guys see the option “Appeal of Admission decision” ??? I never saw this option before and I’m wondering if this is a sign that I won’t get in or if everyone receives this
@buizchick everyone receives that, but it was actually put out for the freshman applicants who were rejected so the timing doesn’t have anything to do with transfer applicants
@buizchick NO, it’s a good sign. It means they are reviewing our apps early. (and hopefully we can hear back sooner just like the UCs)
Thank you!! @penntousc
Also, what should we do to submit our winter quarter grades that have just been released? Do we have to submit another transcript to USC or can we send them an unofficial transcript PDF via the youSC portal? I was just going to select “College/Univ Unofficial Transcript” and submit it via the portal.
Thanks in advance!!
I would call your on-site counselor they answer right away and will help you with any questions related to that!! @buizchick
@buizchick what my major’s admission director told me was to upload an unofficial transcript to the portal as a backup, and then send your official transcript.
Thank you @pianorite!!

Recommendations: None Yet, I am asking my sociology professor and he always tells me I that I am very smart and that I should pursue multiple career paths. I finished my 50 question plus essay and double checked it, all in 15 minutes to prove I am really smart to him. He should give me a good recommendation. (Telling it how it is…)
Might also ask my ECON Professor for a letter of REC (My Major)
@IvyLeague2 It’s a little hard to chance you when you haven’t said what number of GE’s you’ve completed for USC or how many credits you have. (Or the equivalent of what you think you might’ve fulfilled with your classes if there is no articulation history between your CC and USC.) If you have more than 30 credits then they don’t look into your high school grades, so that wouldn’t matter. Also, from what I’ve read, most of the schools within USC don’t really care about ECs, the exception being Annenberg, I think, but don’t quote me on that one. The last info session I went to they said that PTK/honor’s list/being in an honor program was not really significant in terms of how they view your application.
What they really seem to care about is the number of GEs you have completed, if you have been full-time for at least the past two semesters, and your essays.
64 credits @usc2563
@IvyLeague2 do you know approximately how many gen ed categories the courses you’ve taken might’ve fulfilled? at 64 credits they’ll expect pretty much all of them to be done, so that you would have time to finish upper div major classes. you’d also have wanted to fulfill the major recs for econ so the equivalent of econ 1 and 2 and I think calculus as well.
@IvyLeague2 hate to say it, but asking anyone to chance you is futile. No matter how polarizing ur stats are (wether in a good way or a bad way) or even average, none of us can truly be accurate, because at the end of the day it’s the compilation of ur application that matters to the person reviewing it. If you wanna get a general idea of the profile of admitted students, USC provides this on their website. Unfortunately even this cannot be relied on heavily since it’s an average, so it gives a ballpark as to where you stand in term s of being admitted, but still no guarantees. Good luck on ur application, the uncertainty sucks but at least we are experiencing the agonizing wait together lol.
When you’re saying might ask prof for letter of rec are you saying u haven’t applied yet?
Im applying this fall @itslife123. Was just going to see what you guys thought about my stats. @Skepta @usc2563 I am transferring as a rising junior and I am applying this fall. I am going into USC hopefully by beginning my classes for my Major (economics). If you could try to chance me in terms of my application, I would appreciate it. I know you guys cannot give definitive answers because you guys are not the admissions officers, but you guys possibly could give me your opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of my app, GPA, and a bunch of other things that are listed. Thanks is advance
@IvyLeague2 your hs and ec are not heavily weighed into your admission. They will only focus on your essay and college courses you have taken. Your gpa 3.9 can only tell us so much. is your 3.9gpa consist mostly of P.E classes (lol) and random GE courses and only one Econ class? Your chance of getting in depends on the college courses you took in terms of the number of GE courses and major prereqs completed.
If you haven’t taken marco, micro econ, and calculus yet, or in the progress, your chance may not be as high despite your high gpa.
I just want to say I am so down to host a cocktail party for all of us. The bond we hold whether admitted or rejected is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. We are together forever. Just remember when the stress gets too high, open up a bottle of wine and have one glass, then have another, and then another, and then another. Finish the bottle, feel relaxed, and just have a really relaxed night okay. You deserve it xoxo.
