2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@stahboy what’s your major?

@delzzz321 Computer Science

@stahboy Most likely you might end up staying 3 years. Looking at the CS GAMES curriculum, it doesn’t seem like 2 years is possible. Maybe pure CS might be alot more feasible in terms of finishing up in 2 years.

Hi everyone, I posted that I got a request for submitting college transcript which I already submitted. Then I got an e mail that admission officer wants me to submit winter grades from my college. The thing is I go to semester with winter session college, which means I am not on the quarter system. For short info, I am a junior Marshall applicant with 64 transferable units. I completed Intro of Sociology on winter session and now I am taking accoungting2-managerial accounting, Calculus 2. Why do you guys think they want my Winter grade, not Spring grade?

@Allpassguy Had you enrolled in your winter session class when you submitted your transcript? If you had, then on your transcript the winter class could be listed as “in progress” even though the winter session hadn’t started yet. If so, then USC knows that you took some classes during the winter session and they might treat you the same as other people from schools in quarter system.

@malpais Thanks for the reply! Yea I put IP for winter session when I applied USC So, do you think that they would not request SGR since I submitted WGR? Or, is it irrelevant?

@itslife123 yeah I planned out my schedule if I was to do the cs games major at USC and each semester packed all the way till the last semester of senior year. This is also assuming the classes I think transfer do end up transferring. It might be possible if I take more than 18 credits a semester

A lot of SGRs and some decisions for Marshall came out around the 20th last year so we should be hearing something soon

@itslife123 I still think it is possible but really difficult to complete the computer science games major. Most of the classes will be project based in CS and games which could create a problem with 18 credits per semester but I could possibly take summer classes to fulfill other courses to lessen the load…

How long does it take for a missing item to clear? All the other documents I submitted only took a couple of days at the most. I’m going to give it a week before I call again to ask if hasn’t cleared. The USC undergrad department told me there was an error on USC’s part by not allowing me to submit the document in the “submit required documents” tab. I had to submit it through “additional info” under the document library.

When do you guys think we’ll hear back?

@coprice we’ll likely see some decisions and SGRs pop up at the end of this week or next week

@zettasyntax @penntousc hey all! I was just wondering where you guys are getting that stuff from? Meaning that we’ll have some SGRs and decisions by the end of the month. T h a n k s xoxo

@Panitaispretty based off of past years’ threads

Oh really? I looked at some past threads and only saw decisions come out in like mid May. I only saw TTP hearing back earlier. The prospect of this is exciting! I hope you’re right! Fingers and toes crossed @-) @penntousc

I just got into Vanderbilt! Still waiting on USC…it will be a tough decision.

@srubien Wow, Congrats!

@stahboy I see. If and when you do get accepted I’m sure you can plan it all out with your adviser and see for sure then. Are you a CS major with a specialization in games at Cornell?

@srubien Congrats! That’s fantastic! :slight_smile:

@itslife123

yeah Cornell only has a game design minor so I am doing that starting next semester since I could not get into the intro class this semester.
