Ahh ok cool. I sent in my Winter grades, but I’m not taking any classes in the Spring because I’m done with all my requirements and wanted to work full time. Do you think that’ll hurt my chances?
@TheWorrisomeGirl I also have that. The first notice is from early March, and I told USC they probably have it on file because another school I applied to stated on their portal that they had it. A few days later USC confirmed they do in fact have it.
Then on April 12th I receive a notice for another transcript but after looking through collegeconfidential I realized it was a WGR - it also says “final notice” even though it’s a completely different transcript request. Don’t think its anything to worry about.
@mellyjune Hi, I got WGR and submitted through the portal even though I am on a semester system with intersession. I am taking two subjects on spring semester either. Then why do yo think I got WGR? Do they consider my case as a quarter system?
@Allpassguy they may be asking for your intersession course grade but I would confirm that with them. In addition, if you are only taking two courses this semester, they may be wanting your past grades to supplement your application especially if you sent in your transcripts or application before you got your grades updated with last fall semester
@juliar95 USC definitely likes seeing full time applicants but your case is a little different since you finished your requirements and you are working full time. If you let them know all of that in your application I don’t think it will hurt your chances
Also your job can also make a difference, like the more your job relates to your major the better, but it’s not the end of the world if your job is unrelated because we obviously want to go to college to get better job opportunities. I don’t know if that wording makes sense hahah
@mellyjune I sent my official transcript with the fall grades updated before the application deadline, but they recently asked my winter grade. I just took one course intro of Sociology which is even not the requirement to my major- Marshall. I finished 54 units and now taking 10 units with 1 requirement-calculus2. I am not sure why they are asking me WGR since I’ve never seen other applicants got WGR who are on a semester system.
@juliar95 I asked my admission counselor about that before if it would be acceptable to take the Spring semester off since I finished my requirements in the Fall. They said that would not cause any concern for them.
@OCCtoUSC thank you! So good to know!
@mellyjune haha I hope they see some relationship between bartending and film.
@juliar95 well I think it’s pretty awesome that your working at a full time job. So many people just sit around on their hands waiting to hear back from schools. Go you!!!
I am on a semester system. So, I guess this is a SGR? I didn’t receive a SGR last year. Moreover, I was under the impression that they literally will send an email or notification saying “Spring Grade Request”. Thank you for telling me this! I feel a lot more calm after knowing other people are receiving the same notifications.
@TheWorrisomeGirl I’m almost certain an SGR is something that pops up under the application status tab, not just the required documents tab. Could be wrong but I think that last year, people were saying it was popping up under app status.
Maintenance tmr Friday morning hmmmmmmmmm I hope some decisions should be rolling out by tmr???
also back in early march i got a random request for grades under ‘check application status’ but it disappeared in like 3 days. It was a glitch
@pomeranian4rich I noticed that earlier and thought the same thing, timing would make sense too because if you had to pick a specific day of the week that USC sends out decisions/SGRs, it’d probably be Friday
These missing document notifications are popping up under the application status as “Missing USC Application” under the message history and on my require documents tab they are listed as “Transcript: -insert name of the school”.
Honestly, I am probably just anxious over something really small. I’ve read in the past about people always getting their decision made (mostly acceptance) before sending in their spring grades.
@TheWorrisomeGirl best thing to do would be to just email your USC counselor and ask what it is
lol i got a WGR few days ago, sent them and now got an SGR, im a incoming sophomore.
ahhhl its only like a 15 minute maintenance period…
@skepta ooooh things are happening
What else could they possibly being completing in 15 other than posting decisions and SGRs? Let’s hope…
