2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@vegas1 What’s her major?

Business

@vegas1 Congratulations to you and your daughter!
TPP is known as USC’s Trojan Transfer Plan. Someone on another forum gave an explanation of what this program is “If you do not get in (as a high school applicant), they may offer you the Trojan Transfer Plan which would do just what you are asking. Only those on the TTP get the luxury of meeting with an advisor to discuss transferring, and offer suggestions what to take based on the school you are attending. You meet with them during the summer before you start/register for Freshman year classes. They are pretty strict on offering this service only to potential transfers that get offered the TTP, I suppose this is because if they offered advising to all transfer applicants, they would need to triple their staff. However, there are online articulation agreements which tell you which classes transfer from the most common schools, and you can look those up once you know the school you would attend, if not USC.”
USC invites a select few of prospective students to be apart of this program. If you satisfy their conditions, you are granted admissions via transfer. TPP applicants also get early admission decisions compared to regular transfers. That’s why he/she asked you if your daughter is apart of the Trojan Transfer Plan

Thanks @dvalenc7 no legacy status and had never applied before now.

wooh, got into UCSD, nice third option. The big leagues need to hurry up.

@vegas1 If my memory serves me correctly, when you apply as a transfer to USC, they ask in the common application whether or not you have immediate family who have previously attended/graduated. Some legacy students explicitly mention this in their writing portion of their application because it gives you a slight edge over a regular candidate. TPP is normally offered to legacy students. If your daughter already got in I would not worry, it is mainly beneficial in the application process.

Yay for UC to UC transfers never getting in places lol

@vegas1 is her portal updated?

Is the portal down for anyone else?

@usc2563 nope it’s working for me

@usc2563 my portal is down too.

@usc2563 it’s down for me

@pomeranian4rich sorry I don’t know. She goes to school out of state and is at her sorority formal now. They sent the acceptance package to our home address and she never received any electronic notification.

I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that it being down means at least an SGR haha

My portal is also currently down; I can sign in but cannot check the status of my application.

omg same here. i cant check my status… hmm i think they’re updating it?

mine is @usc2563

@vegas1 Do you live near usc? in Southern california? nvm, you’re on the east coast. sorry for asking.

It is probably nothing, but my heart started racing.

Btw, I love how active the forum is now. It makes me feel way less crazy for checking my portal constantly.

This better not be another tease
