2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

I can’t check my application status

@usc2563 I check my portal every time I check my social media, maybe even more frequently

I wonder if the admission committees know these forums existed and are just messing around with us lmao

@pomeranian4rich that’s something I would totally do if I were a counselor

Screw you counselors ! (Jk I love you)

do you think the mail will get here in one day? I live a little outside LA (around an hour away from USC) and idk if same day mail exists LOL

Clearly a boring Friday afternoon for the counselors that they just wanted to mess with a toooon of applicants.

@usc2563 ahhh the struggle is real

i’m telling myself to not over analyze everything but i can’t help it at this point

@vegas1 what is the date on the acceptance letter?

I wonder if out of state applicants get priority over local ccc students. The only reason I could think of is diversity. I bet usc is trying to admit diverse applicants outside of CA first before admitting local ccc applicants.

Kinda wondering if I might be one of those applicants (if accepted) that is accepted as undeclared, even though I’ve selected two majors, just because I have only taken math, writing, and GEs

@pomeranian4rich letter came in a package that was postmarked priority mail - sent the 18th. The admissions letter is dated the 18th.

@vegas1 thanks! and congrats to your Daughter!

Do you know what her stats are? Like how many units has she completed at her college, prereq major classes she has taken, extra-curricular activity, and letter of recommendation from her professors?

@penntousc even if you are, switching majors at usc isn’t hard. Given you get A’s or B’s in the required classes to switch major

@pomeranian4rich Oh yeah I know, I’m sort of praying that happens because there were some sophomore applicants that were already accepted to Dornsife, but I highly doubt Marshall would admit a sophomore

lol @pomeranian4rich California is huge, you don’t need to go out of state for diversity. Besides, with the cost of tuition, in state applicants are more likely to afford the school (local) over out of state. I just don’t see the logic in selecting out of state over local schools, 4 years or CC’s. Maybe the girl had outstanding credentials.

@bugajskj the price is hardly different for OOS students since USC is private

@pomeranian4rich she is finishing sophmore year. On track with credits to graduate in 4 years. Finance economics major and attends a good university. Fulfilled all prequ classes as she planned her schedule accordingly. Applied to 5 schools to transfer. 3.9ish GPA, 33 on ACT in high school, sorority, lots of community service, internship last summer, letter of recommendation was probably solid- think it was a class she struggled in.

Have any incoming sophomore applicants heard back yet? I applied but will also be an incoming sophomore coming from a four-year University. Just want to know if any of these people have heard back of a decision or SGR?

I got a request for a midyear grade? Is that an SGR?
Or is that just an error because it appears to be for high school seniors?
