@nvz1997 a handful have heard back from Dornsife I think but it’s pretty rare, the majority of them get an SGR at best
@usc2563 I think it’s a glitch. midyear grade is for high school seniors. My friend got that too. it’s weird.
yeah I just got the same thing
It suggests that I can put in my mid year grades??? I’m a junior applicant so I don’t know how that applies to me. It’s not a required document on my document submission list. So I don’t know how to take that?
Same here. Like @pomeranian4rich said, I think it’s just a glitch.
@penntousc I am not talking about tuition. Living expenses, etc. I am sure there is a decent amount of applicants from the LA and surrounding areas that would be saving over $12,000+ from just living near by.
Called USC. Their system has been down for the entire time the portal was down and they said check back on Monday, because it might be an SGR that went out the wrong way.
@penntousc Okay got it, yeah I think I will receive a SGR (at least I hope). Thanks for the reply!
@bugajskj well most of the people that attend USC (nearby or not) don’t commute from home and have to deal with the living expenses, especially since most of them live either on campus, or in off-campus housing (Lorenzo, Tuscany, University Gateway, etc.)
@bugajskj I understand what you’re saying though, it will definitely be more difficult for me to deal with (if accepted) since I live on the east coast. I’m not even that worried about it though because I would likely end of getting a very good package, and the couple grand extra it might cost me due to coming from OOS, is just a drop in the bucket compared to what I would have to pay if I got a poor financial aid package.
I got the mid-year grades thing a while ago and it disappeared in a few days. I think its just a glitch. I have it again and I’m pretty sure its a glitch
Does everyone have it?
@penntousc Yeah I just meant its harder overall, I live an hour and a half away so I am sure I can find a decent deal by scouting the area. Its going to be a pain for you, if we are accepted I will let you know if I find any deals. I am going to speak to a lady I met at Starbucks tomorrow who owns an apartment complex about 20 mins from USC.
@bugajskj ok cool, if I’m accepted early enough to get on campus housing though, that’s probably the route I’ll take because I think spending at least a year living with a bunch of other students would really help to get acclimated with the school, and would make the transition much easier. Gotta get a grasp on the campus and the immediate surrounding area before I tackle LA lol
Does everyone have the submit mid-year grades? I’m wondering if it just went to some people as an SGR mistake or if it’s just a glitch everyone got.
okay i got the glitch too lol junior applicant here
@delzzz321 I think it’s just some people. I checked and nothing appeared for me.
The person I spoke to asked if it was requesting my current semester grades, so I’m assuming it’s an SGR glitch. Or it’s nothing. Who knows really.
The mid-year grades appeared on my uscportal too.
Doesn’t make sense that so many of us would be getting an SGR though…
I think its just a system glitch
Well if we all have real good stats…
