2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

did your guys “submit mid year grades” link go away? Mine did

when its time to send grades for an SGR, can i send them electronically or does it need to be my mail?

@dvalenc7 It doesn’t say anything in any tabs nor did I get an email asking why I’m not in school this semester, should I fill out the additional info or just wait for them to ask you think?

Naturally, I’ve been getting antsy about my final admission decision and honestly, I’m preparing myself for a rejection.

If I create an appeal that shows some great new commitments relative to my major, community service and a spike in my GPA this semester, do you think USC may have the thought that I am doing well at my current institution and therefore, decide to reject my appeal as well?

maybe it’s a dumb question but what do you think?..

@lasloth Personally, I would give a brief explanation to be on the safe side assuming you have a good reason. If you can mitigate any reason to doubt you as a candidate do it. If you did anything productive during that time, be sure to mention it

That’s a good idea! Thank you @dvalenc7

Did the “submit mid-year report” disappear on anyone else’s portal?

What date will they release the decisions?

@madzalot there’s no set date but we’re all hoping they release some this coming week… they come out sporadically over the next 2 and a half months though

hopefully some decisions/sgr will be going out next week and more on the first week of May.

Hi guys! So I applied as a Sophomore transfer for Dornslife and I’ve noticed that some people have been receiving SGRs. Where can I check to see if I also received one? Is it good/bad that we receive one? Also, I’m moving in about two weeks and I wasn’t sure if I should notify the admissions office about the address change because I don’t know when I’ll receive my decision. Thanks!!

@gamjah You should check your YouSC applicant portal to see if you received a SGR or not. Considering you’re a sophomore applicant, the chances that you will receive one are very high. It is neither a good or bad thing if you receive one, it simply just means that the admissions office needs more information from you to be able to reach a decision. I would assume receiving one is on the more positive end since it is just a straight up rejection and they’re giving you a chance. And yes, you definitely need to inform them if you’re changing your mailing address.

Does anyone know what it means to get an email that your financial aid status has been completed yet I havent gotten a decision?! :0 I can see my financial aid package but no decision

@swim0220 that’s very odd

@penntousc ya super weird! i got an email and my parents did for the parent one and it says here ur aid and loans and shows what I can do to pay for the semesters which is so weird bc idk if im even in but possibly could be a good sign?!

@swim0220 If they gave you a financial aid package that probably means you’re in!

@juliar95 I really hope!! :0 its odd they would send it if you are rejected but who knows! I got the email in the middle of the night last night!

yes it’s true! congratz!!! if you get your financial aid it means you’re in! some people last year got their financial aid first and were accepted a few days after!

Anyone know how difficult it is to get the remaining loans I’d need after a full aid package (if accepted of course)? Mom’s got bad credit and I’m not even sure if my Dad has credit, so any loans in which I would need a consigner are pretty much out of the question

Is it bad that I haven’t heard literally anything back? Or is it still too early to be overthinking this…
